    Bring it to their attention...
    Ask for a dealer credit....
Fix it yourself with some touch up.
Sucks that it happened but it would be a long battle to get it replaced at most Dealerships. Do they do good work otherwise?

You should just part it out in buy/sell/trade

    It’ll never be ‘right’.

Some of y'all...geez. Just take it back to the dealer and ask them to fix their mistake.

This is the lift? Ah that explains the damage. The tech had to use a spring compressor to disassemble the coilover and swap out the perch. The dealer may consider it unavoidable cosmetic damage.

Choose your battles brother! I am not saying you should not let them know about it and that you are less than pleased, but going in there with guns blazing and insisting they pay for a new one seems a little..... well Karen! I personally would touch it up with some red paint and move on.

Fwiw my springs look like shit from off road use. Part of my maintenance on them is to clean them down and touch up paint them as needed. I even had the ones in my 80 series powder coated once.

Point is, if you are using them they will eventually chip and peel. If it was me I would probably point it out to them and move on.

Yeah... Not to mention dealer can easily say:

    A) Coils arrived this way, if you want to return it, we remove if for the labor cost of $xxx and you can pay the return shipment. Or you can remove it yourself.

    B) You singed off when we delivered the truck, according to our record they weren't chipped when we delivered the truck.

Annoying yes, worth going back to the dealership over….no. That just means the monkeys get another wack at my truck. As others have stated, fingernail polish works wonders and you’ve learned why most would never take their Tacoma to the dealer, unless it’s warranty work.

Sorry for you loss and this would have made a great Friday thread.

Pretend you chipped in it doing something offroady.

Make up a good story that others will believe.

I was smoking it up this trail so hard that I kicked up some rocks that banged of my springs!!!
They cleared in between by upper and lower control arms, but my tires are so aggressive that they were thrown up there as I was wheelin' in 4 HI.

Or, you know, spend endless hours arguing about $100 springs.

It's a Toyota, don't worry about it. Something far more critical will rust out long before the spring does.

If my buddy down the road installed it for me I wouldn’t say a thing…but when I’m paying a professional $839 to install it, I’d expect them to do a proper job. I’ve watched the entire install video from Westcott and it doesn’t look necessary to bash up the coil to do the install.

The coils are stock for the truck, they have to partially disassemble the shock assembly to add the collar, for install.
