I had no idea dealerships were to be avoided when it comes to this sort of thing. This particular dealership was specifically given to me by Westcott to do the install.

Yeah, but at least here you don’t have to pay me to prang your springs…

What did you learn here having a dealer install aftermarket parts for you?

Why didn't you take it to a friend or a reputable offroad shop to install your lift?

Dealerships should only touch your truck if it is something under warranty, outside of that there are better options.

Just touch it up with some pretty red nail polish and get on with your life.

I scratched the RR fender on my '21 TRD OR AC last weekend.
    I'm heartbroken.
    Might have to sell it.
Can't own a Taco with a scratch on it.

I understand why you might be a bit upset, but I would touch it up and move on. Way less energy, time, and stress to just touch it up with a little paint and move on with your life as opposed to deal with getting a dealer to rectify it. Cost-benefit analysis. A few bucks in paint and maybe 30 minutes of your time if you include the time it takes to go to the store to get paint.

To answer your question, there is no reason to be concerned and no you shouldn't ask for a replacement coil.

I mean the tech probably took it for a spin around the block to make sure everything was working correctly right?

Get some men's springs. What the hell is that red nail polish doing on there anyway.

As many others have said, get over it. Who really is going to notice the chip in the coating except for you?
BTW, coils do and will rust over time 'cuz coatings don't last forever.
Get some red paint on it before the rust starts and you'll be fine.

uhmmmm..... paint pen and call it a day. not worth the hassle of calling/emailing dealership for a replacement coil. Ifs it not broken than your good. hope you don't go off-roading.... May have not even been the dealers fault and were mishandled during shipping.

Seems like if the damage was from a spring compressor it’d be at the top or bottom of that part of the spring rather than the side….just saying. And I’m a certified Saturday night coil forensics amateur internet scientist.

Since you have no shot at being compensated with a new coil, you should probably just awkwardly shop for hooker-red nail polish at the local drug store. By yourself, after dark. Maybe lipstick too?

If you’d noticed it at install and before signing/paying you’d probably have gotten a token discount. At this point, maybe you still would. If it was me I’d probably make a call, send them a photo, calmly ask what this is and how it happened. See what they say. I wouldn’t get worked up about it, but it’s a brand new part and I can understand being irritated.

might as well sue them at this point. take them to small claims court so you can fix your scratched spring.
