The service writers are mostly in our area are on commission. They get paid spiffs from fluid additives. Also they have 2 level commission, so a brake job could be worth 9 dollars to them. Meaning that's all your worth to them. A differential additive spiff 5$ plus. 7 in commission.

Lighting. Wheels/tires. Bed Step. Rock Sliders. Locking Gas Cap.
We had Cadillac 3.6 performance top of the line ATS. Purchased used with 14K miles, still under warrantee and free services first 36k miles or 3 years whichever first. Our well known Cadillac dealer had it in for motor mount recall replacement. Service writer said rear brakes needed replaced, front too. Cost was 2K plus fees. I questioned it, demanded it in writing. Service writer was pissed I questioned his tech, he went to look himself.
Turns out the pads on our ATS were good, tech had two ATS vehicles he was checking. I asked to see both vehicles, they denied. They brought ours around, said have nice day, never admitting fault and refused my admittance into service area.
I had vehicle home for the weekend, pulled wheels and brakes. Must have been freeway miles because our brake pads were good as new!

But the brakes should not wear out that fast. Any reputable dealer would replace those no questions asked. As others mentioned get a second opinion, but I’d get the it from an independent service center. Not another dealer.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I have 160k on my rear brakes and they're fine. The fronts wear faster because they do 60 to 80% of the braking. If the rears are bad then the fronts should be worse. They were trying to play you.
