Depends on what they added, $699 for "mop and glo" and a couple free oil changes YUP I would order another. Anything else I can have them remove it.

I have an MX5 and the wife's CRV. I don't HAVE to have a truck now. Now if they added Mats, I would probably suck it up and pay the $200......But I can wait indefinitely for what I want. Not that I want to do that but I can if necessary. I really don't need a truck for the Fall and Winter months here....I just want one.

It doesn't matter what they do or you do it's a non-refundable deposit.

correct. But I can have a lot more fun with it while I'm here.

$40k will buy me 3 purpose focused vehicles that will accomplish more than one slightly above average truck.

Or one awesome custom built sports car.

The new car smell isn't that much of an enticement when there is much more automotive fun to be had.............

It is refundable if the Terms we both signed change. If the truck come is as ordered I will be obligated to buy it and I will for the price we both signed on the buyer's order. Plus my deal was made on the basis of an Invoice deal I got out of town. I can always defer to the first dealer's pricing and order from them.

Absolutely....In fact I would wait until next March when I will need a truck again for homestead stuff. I really don't need a truck in the Winter here.

IF it comes in wrong they will offer to order another one. If you walk you breach the contract and they keep the deposit.

If supply goes down and demand goes up, both of which are pretty standard following a natural disaster, then yes. It's absolutely fine to raise gas prices following natural disasters. In fact, it's the responsible thing to do to deter people from being wasteful of a limited resource during an emergency situation.

No that's like saying you ordered a SR5 but we got a TRD OR in do you want to get this one now (In the time frame you were originally told) or do you want to wait 8 or more weeks because they are not making them at this time just the OR and the Limited are full production at this time. They are still fulfilling their end by ordering you a truck it's just going to be a lot longer now. You agreed to order the truck and they ordered it but say they got allocated to a different location.

I don't think my dealer will hold my deposit. I bought two trucks from them in the last year LOL...I think that is why they gave me a break on this one. But who knows? I gave them a CC. I can dispute the charge but it won't come to that. I am ready to wait until the Spring to get a truck although I won't get a better deal then.Maybe $300 less...Invoice plus doc fee.

In My case they specifically sent me an email a few days after the signed buyers order with the OTD pricing claiming they found my truck exactly as ordered and it is "in their inventory"....That sounds like a contract to me. I cannot see how anything else could come in than what they claimed. But I only received a "placeholder" VIN with the truck sheet they sent me.

The dealer I dealt with and told them I would leave a deposit to hold the last truck never attempted to charge me.

I even told them it would be 6 days before I was there to pick it up.

Nope. It's from being surrounded in the world by whiners who have unrealistic expectations that the world owes them something, and that they are exempt from the expectations of everyone else because they are unfair.

I'd rather be a douche than anything you call yourself, all while crying unfair about everything.

I doubt the dealer had the appropriate paperwork for a non-refundable deposit. Sound more like he was trying to sort out a legitimate buyer vs a talker\dreamer. There are a lot of laws protecting the purchase of a vehicle. Not that I'm a fan of a bunch of laws dictating how business should be conducted, but car dealers historically brought the existing laws upon themselves. Perhaps you just got an "old school" sales guy

...probably a cross between Will Ferrell and Ron Jeremy.

Did you ever work out final numbers? A non refundable deposit on a low price is not a bad thing.
