All joking aside. I hope it all works out for you. Pain in the ass to have to deal with these types of inconveniences.

Hadn't heard of this sort of thing previously. I wonder whether a dealer has a legal right to impound an owner's vehicle due only to a recall? It doesn't matter what a vehicle owner uses their vehicle for or why they want their vehicle back, if an owner has a legal right to take their vehicle that's the end of the argument. Any attorney's on here knowledgeable of this?

I believe trouble in metric is spelled american? Could be wrong on that one though. :D

All kidding a side, I would be pretty upset if my truck was impounded for the recall. I made sure to crawl under my truck and double check the diff, no issues before even thinking about bringing the truck in. I also called the dealer and asked if I could be provided a 4wd vehicle with AT tyres, as I work and live in the middle of a field with 2-3 feet of mud here in Northern AB at the moment. Not an issue, they understood and would provide me with an adequate vehicle should it need to be kept.

You only do that if the word comes from Latin. Is Yaris a Latin word?

My truck was held by Toyota of Glendale while they waited for the rear differential to be replaced. They found metal shavings in the fluid and would not let me leave. They were going to let me leave until I told them I was going on a 300 mile trip the next day which included many miles of off road driving. That made them tell me NO

I can't say I don't agree with you. But they didn't keep my truck so I'm not mad about the situation :burnrubber:

Now I know @Z50king you do not have an English degree, so if you have a Latin degree....post it up now.

They would potentially be releasing a vehicle onto the roadways that they have deemed unsafe. That could put them and you in a shitload of hurt should the truck cause an accident.

I would imagine there is some type of legal language that allows them to do this. Especially if this is a federally mandated recall and not a self-initiated campaign.
