What's the cost different? It's a few hundred bucks to get a new HU with car play, wirless too! That's the only thing I don't like, it has to be plugged in. To the center stack. SO for the past few months I'm back to BT without using carplay anyway.

Same CC in the 21 as the 18, has the adaptive cruise and the speed control cruise if you hold down the button.

Don't forget power seats, but that isn't worth it in my opinion.

If you had a 17 and wanted the adaptive cruise it would be harder to say no. For me, though, you have the adaptive cruise and for the added cost, equivalent you can get a better than factory aftermarket HU with the android/apple support. Enjoy the truck, you researched it when you bought it, and bought the best you wanted for your needs. If your needs change, that's one thing, but a new flashy toy? That's a pain.

Don't forget sales tax if you have to deal with that. In RI, at least, for a truck, the trade in value is not exempted, so I pay the 7% on the full sale, regardless of trade in. :( plus ongoing registration is reduced YOY by the MY, even though my MV tax is based on NADA values instead :(

Texas discounts sales tax. CC in this context is crawl control. Apparently Toyota has really neutered what functionality CC did have sometime after May 2020.

sales taxes prorated to the difference between the two vehicles here in Missouri. Didn't know about crawl control getting nerfed? Was already under the impression that was kind of weak...

MUST BE NICE TO HAVE THAT DISCOUNTED.....
It's very common to be discounted, and in RI it IS discounted....but not for trucks......

Anyway, how often do you use crawl control? Genuine question, because I have used it once "for real" (even then it was gimmicky), and other than that, once just to see how it worked. If you use it, so be it.

Fair question.... haven’t used it but once or twice in wet fields just to try it out. I don’t need it now, but who knows what the future brings.

Interestingly, I've received several emails for dealers other than the one I purchased from trying to convince me to trade my new truck in. If you go by the dealers they are short on both Tundra and Tacoma. One reason might be that after the election, regardless of who wins, the economy is likely to pick up (always does). But the dealers truck shelves are bare. I think they are trying to "stock up".

Given that the discussion in on a truck forum and the Op references buying and selling a truck I feel I am on pretty solid ground with the assumption.

Probably less than 5 percent of vehicle purchases were going to be made with cash but then due to low interest rates the buyer financed the vehicle and put the cash to work earning a better return. A much higher percentage rationalize buying a new vehicle because of low interest rates though.

There’s a fairly active thread on the neutering of crawl control on the 2020’s as of build dates somewhere around March I believe? Whether crawl control was beneficial or not before then, it’s clear that Toyota changed the dynamics considerably for the apparent worse.
