Dealer markup on 2023

I think everyone pays doc fees and that's normal. I believe 600-ish is legit but maybe on the high side. Any other add-on options you agree to is up to you. You can always opt out of those.

 

I agree. I don't begrudge the dealer for taking $1K for DMV services with out of state purchaser since they won't see the truck again. I do take offense at them putting us through the "finance officer" wringer when we had a well-documented cash deal. I'm more disappointed with Toyota's SR5 "Premium Audio" scam and SE Distributor adding $160 for "installation" of the $179 floor mats. "Oh, What a Feeling!"

OK. Time to get over it. Told the story for those it may help. Now, try forgiveness and just enjoy the truck!

PS: Inflation and disappearing V6 will make the deal a bargain in short order.
Homes were an investment; trucks were an expense. Not anymore.

 

^With buying multiple cars over the years, I've never had an issue with the salesman. I've had severals sales managers waste my time, but every finance manager has been questionable to rude, to say the least.

 

I haven’t had a finance person give me shit in years. I make it clear up front when I roll in to finance that I’m in charge, not them.

I spent 20+ years defining business rules and process for some of the nations largest mortgage originators, it’s so easy to put a finance person in their place with a couple of targeted questions.

 

My local Toyota dealer is "family owned," my 2023 Tacoma OffRoad DC, 6spd manual, so happens they got in stock in June 2023. I grabbed it for around $38,000, below MSRP.☺️

 

Bought a 2023 DC SPORT in Minneapolis 3 weeks ago. Listed for $42376. They took $1000 off list. $125 DOC Fee. License and tax will vary by state. 3.99 Toyota Financing. There are 6 Toyota dealers in this area and seem ready to sell. Think they are getting rid of stock to get ready for 2024.
