They recommend it because 99% of the Aftermarket Suppliers wouldn't know which end of the screwdriver to hold onto if they were told to install their product......

This makes me want to park my truck before its first oil change comes due and never drive it again.

Dealer said they pulled the fuse tap to the lights and put a factory fuse back in. Test drove it several times and hasnt shut off once whereas it did several times before when they tested. Only thing i can think is somehow that wire got damaged during the oil change as its very coincidental the issue started within an hour of picking it up from the dealer. ill keep yall posted

Like others have said: Never power tap off of primary power circuits. like ECM,lights, fuel inj,ign coils etc,
even if it is a coincidence, their are plenty of other circuits to tap off off.

Got it back from the dealer. Said they pulled the fuse tap and put a stock fuse back in. Drove it home with no issues. Dealer didn’t charge me either which is surprising

Definetly a much better source. But why not run those raptor lights on a dedicated switch, you really want those lights on whenever truck is powered up.

OK. I might be wrong here but the initial consensus was that the dealer was at fault. However, even though one action usually causes the other, there are many instances like here that we don't know the whole story and immediately blame the dealership. If you've added anything above factory, you take the responsibility of knowing what you are doing and things can go wrong.

The dealer in this case, spent time, diagnosed, fixed and didn't charge. I would say the dealer went above and beyond in this case.

I'm the first to complain when things go wrong. But also give credit on the other side if warranted.

I never ever had anyone change my engine oil, I'm picky about type, brand and quality of work. Simple job that takes a bit of time but only you can do it right...providing you don't mind a bit of work !

That blows me away, as it probably took them an hour to figure it out. Typically you get billed $150 for an hour diagnostic. It could have been much worse!

If you live in an apartment complex, doing your own work is a challenge.

I'm old, but still, I like doing my own maintenance. It gives me a chance to spend time looking for little issues before they become big issues.

Just why I change oil in my vehicles
You wouldn't believe the issues/mistakes some Chevy dealers' have caused changing C7 'dry-sump' oil systems, including putting new oil in the coolant reservoir as opposed to the oil tank.
