Thank you. I like thinking for myself, as I'm sure most people do. I know my truck has problems which I could never inflict upon it. That, is not an opinion.

Gas station across the street from dealer... In any case, the truck's got a grey area. It's an unusual situation, to say the least. But, a Toyota Factory Tech told me yesterday during an inspection that the truck could very well have been sitting in Maine during the winter or have been compromised during the trucking to the dealer. All I'm trying to say, that there is a lot of potential unknowns when your truck is a dealer trade, not a factory order...

Team sarcasm. I think I am going to wait for blue and see if they are willing to do something like that. I can't see me accepting the white one. If I wanted white I would have ordered white

To buy a zero mile brand new truck to me would indicate a severe lack of quality control by Toyota, I would want to see a few miles on my brand new truck to indicate it was at least driven from the factory floor to the holding lot, then onto a transporter, off the transporter, on to a train or ship, back on a transporter to the dealer lot, where said dealer drives a few miles before offering it for sale. A new vehicle cannot have zero miles n it, it has to be moved after being built. Yes?

Or, since they're relying on the "gave you too much for your truck" card, see what kind of trades you can get elsewhere. Nothing to lose.

Yes I would expect a few miles on it. One I saw at the dealer had 4 miles on it

Dustin. I bought my 2014 from this dealer also and they beat the best deal I could get by $1000. I don't think I can get a better deal besides I will now be driving it for several thousand more miles before the new one comes in.

Sounds like color to you is non-negotiable. When it came to color I told the dealer blue, then said anything except any shade of red.

My non-negotiable is red. My other is it must have jbl. I gave up a chance for a blue one due to no jbl system.

Obviously, I have a foot-mouth... The dealer techs doing the safety inspection & road tests putting on about 10 mi., yes, your points are valid. I should've just talked about the dealer-trade new vehicle. That's what I ended up with, apparently. The 13 mi. may be a moot point, but I'm not dismissing them either, as I don't know what dealer did said road test and for how many miles & where. There's a lot of unanswered questions as to where my truck was supposed to go & be. Which is what the OP was kind of getting at, knowing it came from the factory and not some randomly located dealer.

Sorry OP, my illustrating why you should wait got a little long winded. Just think of how nice your brand new blue truck will look in the Spring sun. Might even be some cool new mods available by then...

Agree. Mistakes happen. If you can live with White I'd take it (my preference)...or wait for the blue. Stinks for sure but they took complete responsibility. The deal was apparently fair to begin with and you can't ask them to take a loss, nobody's perfect.

    Just my 2 cents.

I think your lucky. Take this opportunity to get the TRD OR and all of the Limited options. I bought the Limited and it's not safe to drive. The suspension wallows. It never stops moving on an undulating road. If I just brake from 1 mph it takes 5 cycles to damp. Neither Toyota nor the dealer will help me. Someone will inevitably lose control on a bad road and wreck. Now I have to go into the aftermarket and spend a grand to make it safe to drive. They don't advertise but you can get ALL of the Limited options any Tacoma.

    WTH .... I th
I think this is still a great deal! Sorry about the mess up, but definitely wait for EXACTLY what you want. Since Sept the dealerships in Dallas area can't keep them on the lot. Vehicles test driven can have close to 400 miles on them. I was getting mine detailed and tinted, and was out front in the sales area. A Taco would come back from a test drive and another couple(s) were in line to take the same truck out. There were only 2 Tacos there that day. After about 2 hours my work was done and I counted 5 couples that had gone out.

Point being I am sure they will have no problem selling the white one or any of them. I think this dealership is a good one for apologizing and holding the deal. Not too sure that will happen very often when a product like the Taco is for sale.

I partly settled on mine. I wanted the JBL, and none were available in Sept and NO option to order online with TRD OR package. I didn't want moon roof or cover etc. I love my Taco ... premium stereo is great for me.

Hold out for the blue, and when you do get it you won't have had 40 couples that had test driven it and it is exactly what you wanted.
