    this.

At least if shit goes wrong in the future you have it documents as their fault.
And most importantly, have the dealer wake up and supervise the idiotic kids they often have doing oil and lube so this doesn't happen again. Possibly have the idiot fired but oh well, sucks but its the only way these idiots learn. I know when I got my tires done the dumb ass kid doing them destroyed the lug key cause he used an impact wrench on it when I told him not to.

Said something to the manager and he said he was going to have a talk with said tech as this isn't the first time the kid fucked up something on a customers vehicle.

dealers don't have to do good work. Cause no matter how many customers they lose, they'll keep getting more with the vast majority of people not knowing any better and drinking the punch that the dealer knows their vehicle best.
Or at least not the dealers around here in the city.

Maybe the dealers in small towns need to give more of a shit.

    I would
I just had a little freak out because of exactly this. There is a pretty sharp bend in the dipstick tube, which I think may contribute to the problem. It was indicating a full inch over the top dot, but I read this post and left the dipstick out for about half an hour. Came back to check again and it is right at the top dot. Thanks, 1bad2k!

I went back to the dealer I bought it from which was more in the country and I agree they're great. I tried getting service here in the city and was disgusted.

So I should correct that if you're in the city where they have 1000s of customers expect shitty service

The BMW dealer did this to my bike too..... Nothing gets me like paying premium prices for premium incompetence. :annoyed:

Threads like this always have me look at start dates...which I did not do on a regular basis.

Seems like dealerships have had negative interactions for some time.

It's good practice to inspect your vehicle before leaving a dealership; if you trust it enough to do so.

    back to bone stock.
life is complicated enough worrying about shit that happened. worrying about shit that MIGHT happen is ridiculous.
worrying about things that might happened because you read it on the Internet forum...below that.

the OP, if I had to guess even way back when it happened was about half a qt high, on the 4.0. it isn't way deep where the crankshaft is whipping up the oil like on an old school SMC motor my friend overfilled by a mile. hah.

I have my free oil change coming up. I already did my own version at 5000 miles and I didnt muck it up, despite it being my first time. I'll take the freebie, and check the stick at the shop.

overall not a bad historic thread to read as the new year comes rushing in. happy new years folks.
