Anyone else having problems with their local Toyota dealer getting the right springs put on? My 05 had the Harsh Ride TSB springs done years ago, and I am pleased with them (I tow a camper). Got my recall letter in June, took it to dealer for "inspection". They said I qualify for the recall and would call me when parts came in. Waited 3 weeks and called them. They said not in yet. I wanted to verify the part # for the springs on order; 04005-34404. They said that's the wrong number, should be 04005-34304. Said that's the ones for all EC/DC models. Tried arguing over the phone, gave up and drove over to them with a copy of the TI in hand. At first they tried to tell me the 34404 ones only applied to Canadian/Mexican region trucks. I argued some more. Finally a management type agreed with me, said they have never done the 34404 springs for any truck so far, and would have to open a case file and get Toyota to approve. They inspected the truck again. I thought all was good to go now. A day later they called back, said I need to bring truck back a 3rd time so they could take pictures and collect "data" before Toyota will approve. We'll see what happens after the pictures.
Anyone else have this hassle? Can anyone who had the 34404 springs put on post pix of the new springs with the part #s visible? After this runaround I want to make sure they get the right ones.

What's the difference in the new springs? I got the 04005-34304 set (marked 48220-04290) and they are 3 main leafs and an overload, which I thought is what the T-SB-0359-10 installed. My truck lifted about 0.5" or maybe 0.75" inch with the new springs and I have a camper shell and junk in the bed. Are the 04005-034404 packs an even higher spring rate?

Don't know what the difference is. But after reading so many posts about the new springs causing rear end sag I wanted to make sure I got what Toyota says I need as the equivalent of the TSB springs.

I definitely understand that. From my perspective I had the original stock 2 main + 1 overload springs and got improved springs. The ride is actually way better. I think I must have had "harsh" springs before, which I surmise is due to them riding on the bump stops all the time. It isn't doing that now, although I don't know if the original springs just sagged over time or were too soft from the start, we bought the truck used and it never got TSB springs and Toyota wouldn't do it for free being out of warranty.

This is not TSB, it is a Recall so if your truck get into the campain Toyota will replace them for Free no matter if your truck is already out of warranty or Am I wrong?

I got the recall and I need the new springs, too. I asked why. My buddy, the service writer, said my springs don't have enough clamps to hold the springs together. Mine has one forward and one rear. The new ones, I was told, will have two forward and two rear.
He also told me they have to have enough re-called trucks that need the springs lined up because they have to order the springs by the skid load. I guess they don't want to have to store extras. I was told it might be between 2-6 months.

I'm sorry for confusing you. My truck never got the original TSB springs for a harsh ride. They wanted to charge me to put on the improved springs since it was out of warranty. Toyota did replace my springs last month under the recall.

I'm just wondering if the TSB springs that you got way back and are now trying to get 04005-034404 to replace are essentially the same as the standard recall springs. IOW, when you got them to put on the stiffer springs you got 3+1, right? That's what I got with the 04005-034304 under the recall.

What I don't know if if they are different spring rates despite being the same configuration.
