Tried this a dozen times on my '08 RC for the passenger side.
It does not work. I can not get to the "b-on/off" display.
I'll try it again, but we all know the definition of insanity...

Oh, well that does suck. My 2013 it beeps for about 20 seconds and then is done. Just the light on the dash stays on after that.

I'd like to try this method. Can anybody confirm it works on the 2014?

And just so there's no confusion for the "just buckle it" crowd, I'll admit now that I actually DO enjoy that chime. I'm very forgetful. I have to set an alarm every morning so I don't forget to pee. Truth be told, sometimes I remember to pee without it, but it's still cheap insurance. I think.

    Reserected from the dead.

Yes, it will work on any Toyota from 1996 thru 2014.

There are updates to the Techstream program that occur yearly. I wouldn't worry about that, they mostly address recalls and bullitins.

There is a "hack" out that allows this program to work work on 64 bit machines. Like that was said earlier, an old XP or Vista 32 bit machine work the best.

If you have a Windows Pro OS, you can run the program in Virtual Machine mode as well.

If there are any computer heads that want to go into this in deatail, there is a vary long thread over on TundraTalk.net. This is were I learned ablut this feature. As I said, it is very long. Have a good chunk of time available to wade thru all the chaff.

My dealer also wouldnt turn it off, and the trick doesnt work for mine either. I ended up getting an old dvd case, tracing the buckle on it and cutting it out. Works perfect. Except when you unbuckle them, make sure you hold onto them, the spring will launch them out.

lol thats kinda that they will launch out.

should put one in for a passenger and when they cant buckle up and find it and try and take it out it may(hopefully) scare them or at least startle them.

I went to my dealer yesterday and they disabled my seatbelt chime and key fob beep for free. Apparently in the software there is an option to disable the seatbelt chime, but not the key fob beep? The tech just disconnected the beeper and I was satisfied.

If memory serves me correctly. The vehicles of the 80's 90's and early 2000's didn't have a seatbelt chime. Yet wearing your seatbelt is the law. Last time I checked, a little alarm that beeps at you every 20 seconds and the ability to enable and disable its sound is not going to prevent you from flying out of the front windshield in the event you get into a wreck and aren't wearing the belt.

I don't see a liability issue here. Only stiff's (dealers) who fail to rationalize beyond the small picture.

Maybe my ideology fails to see the opposing reality other do, and seeing the other perspective of it, I can see how they might label it a liability seeing as this country (especially CA) has become sue happy in the last decade.

btw for those that keep saying just wear your seatbelt, I agree with you. HOWEVER, what about those of us that have harnesses to replace the seatbelts? Turning off that chime would be a blessing.

There is also those that like to wheel which in some situations you have to jump in and out many times so the last thing you want to do is wear your seatbelt and do that at the same time. Just sayin.

How did you do that? I had the dealer turn off the drivers side but stupidly told them not to turn off the passenger side. I have a Bluetooth OBDII connector, what else do you need to do to turn it off?

looks like that is waht I will be doing. Stopped at the dealer this morning to get my shock replaced and hoped to get them to disable the chime as well. They said they called Toyota and Toyota said they could refuse. I do not believe them so I will be looking for another dealer if I ever need service. They have been real aholes about this.
