Still searching for my AG 2021 Taco OR LB.
Found one online at a dealer in another state.
They said"your not local so we will not sell you that truck"
This is the first time I have heard of this but understand it. BUT it still sucks!

I have offered by a local dealer to build one and order it that way. NO telling on when it would get delivered. I am not in a hurry but I am asking for what seems to be a unicorn

That's some epic BS. In normal times, I might say to show up and buy it. These days, it is risky as it could be sold before the listing could even get pulled.

Good luck getting what you want.

They probably know they'll be able to sell it for full sticker + by this weekend locally so why bother with the hassle of selling out of state to you.

It's a bummer but dealerships aren't having to try and sell anything right now, people are showing up as the semis are unloading to buy one.

    Best of luck.

I went three hours south into a different state to get my unicorn. We did the deal over the phone and I just showed up, signed the papers, and drove it home. TRD Sport, Inferno with the orange dash, fully loaded, manual transmission. Only dealer that had it.

I'm with tonered, it's some BS.

Best thing to do is show up on the dealer lot and be ready to pay for it. They don't have enough inventory to wheel-n-deal nowadays.

Jones Junction has them in stock. Not sure if they will sell to someone from another states but it cant hurt to ask.

I did basically the same thing but at a local dealer. Had it all setup over email and everything came out exactly as agreed. It was about as easy as doing the Costco Auto Buying thing, but I did slightly better.

It is nice seeing the rare Inferno running around.

When I was looking at buying a new 2019 taco my local dealer was low balling me on my trade in. I phoned another Toyota dealer in a town a couple hours away to see what they had in stock and I mentioned that my local dealer was low balling me hence the phone call to them. Long story short, 20 minutes after I get off the phone with the out of town dealer, my local salesman calls me up with a new double the price for my trade in offer. Coincidence? I don't think so.

My buddy who once was a car salesman tells me that dealerships tend to cooperate (collude?) on these out of town deals because they don't like to step on each others local territory.

Thanks! I still lived in WA when I got mine, it was down in Oregon. I almost did the Costco thing at the dealership in Centralia, but they didn't have a double cab and I preferred it. The ACLB sure looks cool though.

TRD OR AG LB "ordered" June 12 with deposit.
    Picked it up August 25.

It is possible to get one, but as others have said there may be a wait.

I got lucky at the time as there were three to choose from at two different dealers. I really had not noticed BR in the past and liked it when I showed up at the dealer to buy it. I was worried as the listing pics didn't really do it justice. Haha!

Thanks! The ACLB has really worked out well for my needs. It's great to have choices.

Good stuff. I like BR a lot too. It was super funny seeing the sales guy in Centralia, who was like 5'6, try and convince me the backseat is useable for people.

I've really enjoyed reading your OV Tune and Accumulator Delete mod stuff, I've done both and it made the truck even more awesome.

Hahaha! It all depends, but sales peeps can never be trusted. The AC did cost me some fam time on a recent trip, but I would not have been able to haul of the stuff that I needed either. The compromises of a mid-size.

You're very welcome! It sucks that we need to do that stuff, but having a Taco that feels like it should is a big freaking deal. :D

Wow, things have changed a lot in a year. I bought mine for $46k, used with 351 miles on it, from Olympia, Washington. We did everything over the phone and email and they delivered it to my house in Portland, Oregon.

You're better off working with their inventory system on a 2022, and having the dealership modify a pipeline vehicle to suit your taste.

    And waiting.

DCLBs in rare configurations are unicorns. I had my order in for mine in August for a December build date.
