Beater might not be a bad idea especially with the crappy time of year in Assachusetts upon us.

Curious who the local dealer is, send me a PM if you don't want to mention it

RTD, it is Jones Junction Toyota which is in Harford County, Maryland. I bought my 2021 Tacoma there on July 16th and I did not pay over sticker. I bought an SR5 so I am not sure if they sell the TRD's at sticker or charge a premium.

That's wild. When I lived there, the entire NE including the NE section of PA was like one big state. Such a weird situation, but we're kinda living in a never ending weird situation.

Had a similar experience as you when contacting Bristol - they wouldn't even entertain a deposit from an out of state buyer even though they had exactly what I wanted.

I had good luck with Greentree Toyota in CT. I drove four hours from Maine and they didn't hesitate to work with me. No markup, remote trade appraisal, everything confirmed via email before setting foot in the dealership. For a smaller place I was surprised at the amount of well spec'd Tacoma's they had - they even have a DCLB Offroad listed on their website at the moment but it's Barcelona Red not Army Green.

Yeah, i suppose you'll really get hosed on doing an order at this time. I bought 2 trucks over the last 40 years from out of state, the last being my 2020 tacoma. Those dealers were happy to sell me a truck so i can't figure what the problem is with the op buying one, unless this dealer actually doesn't have the truck....otherwise i agree to its all bs today.

I'm just a few miles north of them, and tried to buy my 2020 tacoma from them, but they didn't have what i was looking for, nor did they seem real interested in ordering it. They gave me an ok price for something close at the time off their lot. Told them i already got a much better price for a very similar taco in another city. All in all not too impressed with greentree in danbury.

Bummer to hear that, maybe I got lucky or they adapted over the last year. Good to get another perspective though!

I'll sell mine, but it's a short bed. 2021 AG OR short bed. Regeared to 5.29. rock rails, chrome delete, red interior LEDs, KDmax tune, MOLLE racks in bed, and center console, TRD lift kit, TRD reusable air filter, Softopper with tent kit. More truck than I need.

Probably more cost to dealer or loss of money dealing with out of state sale . It is what it is .

Yup..46 of my 47 years in this state. Nuff said.

Though, maybe try Copeland in Brockton. Not sure what they can do for you, just that I've had many a good experience be it purchasing or repair

The good news is the shortage may be coming to an end soon? I have been seeing truck loads of Tacoma trucks being transported. So production might be back on track!

Could have just finished a round of production. I got a text today saying my truck should be in any day now. When I stopped into another dealer over vacation they said their next allocation was 30-40 days out.

all the dealers in my area (Northern VA/Washington DC) ha a $5-9k markup on all 2021s... I found a dealership 300 miles away and bought it at slightly under MSRP and free delivery.
