I just had a dealer that say they have one allocated to them. Gave me a vin # and a build sheet. So I gave them a deposit. and going in this weekend to confirm delivery
Bottom line is a need a truck.
DCLB TRD Premium OR package AT in AG. $47388.00 PLUS $500 dealer BS plus tax. title, and reg about another $3k. So $50k
    I'm guessing $2700 over sticker

that really isnt bad at all! nice! my MSRP is $45,662 and I paid right at $51k OTD.

I was told by almost 20 dealers that "I wanted a unicorn" and "this is a 1 out of 100 truck" etc...

Bought a 86 toyota truck from boch in ma., and my 2020 from herb chambers up in auburn....had fine dealing's with both. Don't know why anyone should have an issue, as both are bigger than average these local dealers that don't have the inventory.

Lived in CA earlier this year, bought my green 21 TRD OR DCLB in IL, flew out and grabbed it. All business was handled over the phone and they overnighted me the forms to CA and payed for them to be overnighted back to IL. As others have said, this is standard procedure. Their unwillingness to do so is bullshit

When you totaled do you mean she was a right off from an accident or something. She is or was a beauty.

Not that unusual when items are in high demand and low supply. For example the new C8 mid-engine Corvette is in such high demand most dealers are adding $10,000>$40,000 to MSRP and some are only selling to those within a 100 miles or so area of them. Same thing years ago when Harley-Davidsons were in short supply. At my local dealer, you had to present proof that you lived within 60 miles of dealership to even participate in lottery to purchase one.
It's just a take care of your local market policy, which I don't see anything wrong with that. Kind of admirable IMO in this day of 'cut-throat' business practices.

This just happened to me as well. I have a Tacoma TRD Pro on order (should arrive next week) with a dealer out of state and they also have a 2022 4Runner TRD Pro as well due this month (last week of Sept). So I was going to get both of them. They just called me today and said that I could only have one and that they would like to sell their rare vehicles locally. I am sticking with the Tacoma, but I was bummed when they called me back and said pick one.

Cleaned her out and she's waiting for the wrecker. Pulled the cap which will be up for sale.
Runs great, hate to se her go.
That said I signed off on a 2021 DCLB TRD OR AT in AG that's supposedly is in transit yesterday .. told delivery date was being end of the month. I believe it when I see, but I joked with the dealer, and they reconfirmed the that I will have this truck soon. Time will tell but I have a 2005 OUTBACK wagon, V6, I can use(wife's car) in the meant time. She can take the train to work. So, I'm in no hurry.

    Everybody wave goodbye

Water leaked into the cab thru the windshield , onto the wiring harness, and shorted out the computer.
But she runs and drives like new, lol

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
    Seems like BS to me.

I've bought cars from dealerships in other counties and other states. The only thing that matters is where the finance/dealership registers it so you pay the right taxes, get the right license plate, etc. But where you live shouldn't matter at all to the dealership.

I'm curious to know how the dealer would have reacted if you just showed up, did a test drive, settled on a number and got all the way to the finance desk before letting them know you were from out of state. Would the dealership have ended the sale then?

    Nah, I get it.
If the local dealer sells off his inventory to non-residents, they may lose money and maintenance and repairs

Yeah, I live in WA. and when I bought mine a year ago, the only dealer that had what I wanted was 6 hours away in Montana. And they were more than happy to sell me a truck.

Not me, but I bet you could find a few people in NE who would fight to get the cap
