I've been calling toyota dealerships everywhere to get another Tacoma and this is pretty normal behavior. They'd rather sell local right now for a few reasons...
    1) They'll get another customer in their service dept selling local
    2) They don't want to deal with shipping/holding/releasing the vehicle and remote possibility of getting scammed if it's an out of state deal vs someone who'll just come in and drive it off the lot

Not saying it's right, but with the times, they can pick their customers and be fine

Another tidbit; if you go in, you can still negotiate the price 95% of the time despite what everyone tells you (did it twice for a tacoma in 2021)... the dealership doesn't care if you buy but the salesperson will still do whatever they can to ensure they get the commission

The new vehicle shortage is worse now then it ever has been, nothing on any dealership lots down here in Florida, truly nothing, empty lots.

Sign of the times. These dealers need to get hungrier again.

The cloth seats with that package also came with orange stitching with is super duper cool, but I have leather. No orange stitching with leather.

I wanted a very specific truck, 2021 OR SB manual with the premium package & moonroof. Seemed to be the unicorn but found one coming in on a truck out of state. Put down my deposit and picked it up about a month later. No wheelin' or dealin' on the truck, only my trade in... is what it is... Most dealers wanted to do the special order but I didn't want to wait 4-6mo.

They did have to hose off the pollen and bird poop while we were inside but it was only on the lot a couple months:notsure::mudding:
All the local dealers were definitely eager to get me into one of the trucks they had. Maybe that explains it.

Hell, pollen is nothing, but if you want to discuss bird poop, i got the bird lady that lives next door with nearly 50 bird feeders throughout her yard. The birds seems to congregate all over the place here using my truck especially to poop on 24/7. Don't know if its the orange stitching in the seats, or the quicksand exterior color, but generally anywhere i go, birds use it as a target.
