If they deny simply respond that they will be hearing from your lawyer. Failing that... not much else you can do other than making noise/and or asking for a refund for the extended warranty you paid for. And trust me... F&I guys would rather refund the warranty over having to hear a daily complaint to them for a good week or two if they wont honor the warranty.

Be a squeaky ass mother effn wheel

Not to mention those sneaky ass deductibles on after market warranties. I've long said never buy an extended warranty Unless you are either A. Behind the desk at the dealership you are purchasing from, or B are the main F&I guy.

Or in my Case C. Buy the extended warranty on your own after the fact. Doesn't hurt to have a Brother inlaw that owns a chain of dealerships that you can get cost on it from

Seems like maybe he just joined to be confrontational and have debates according to what I have seen.

OP, I'm fairly confident that you'll be covered. There are a lot of assumptions flying around in this thread from people that haven't reviewed your contract so the best option for you would be to pull out a copy and do some reading, ignoring what everyone in this thread has posted.

I'm not sure what you bring to this forum @96carboard. Hopefully a moderator grows tired of your attitude and sends you on your way.

Reluctantly agree with that... only reluctantly because I like being helpful when I can... and with your statement my previously given 2cents is now null and void..

    Too few to list.
Is sealant needed with the pan gasket?

    Many !
Ask for the Toyota Regional Manager ,and have a second opinion done at AMMCO Transmission or a reputable Tranny shop. your dealer is lying!!! May just need a qt or two of Tranny fluid! Demand they cover under warranty or get a Lawyer and sue them !

Transmissions come from the factory with form in place gasket sealant. When you buy a replacement filter kit, it comes with a new gasket. Like said above, changing the filter (screen mesh) is not going to gain you much. when you do a drain, material blocking the mesh is back flushed out the drain.

Power flush, most likely is fine. If not then rebuild.

I used to think this about extended warranties... However, my wife purchased an H3 and it was the first year which had a ton of problems... rear diff went out, transfer case went out and then the transmission went out. She bought it from carmax and got the extended warranty from them... however the gm/buick dealer had to review each claim and send the info to gm to decide of they would cover it.

Every single time we went in there they tried and tried and tried to deny each claim. We dug our heels in each time and they would eventually fix it. After the trans went however, carmax bought the car back from us for more than we owed on it.

So long story short, as long as you read and understand what the warranty covers, it might not be a bad idea to get one... also don't get an h3 lol.

Or even easier, buy a good car haha. GM, Ford, Chevy...sadly all suck balls now. Toyota isn't perfect but very few of the others make it to 200k with minimal needs.

Yeah, I can't believe the junk coming out of Detroit now days. I was at my buddies shop the other day. He had a Chevy Silverado there, hood up, 5.3L LS motor. I asked him what was up with it. Roller lifters held from turning in the bore with......bakelite plastic. So, the plastic breaks, the roller lifter turns and destroys the cam and lifter. So, you would think, pull the grill, radiator, a/c condensor, intake manifold, and stuff and replace the cam and lifters. Nope! The heads have to come off to get the lifters out. What a bunch of crap at 150K miles.

Is it sad that I'm annoyed I have to wait at least four days to find out how this turns out? Episode ends in a cliffhanger....

OP have you opened up your contract yet to see what the transmission language says?

They’ll fix your trans for you...don’t worry about that. If in fact it needs replacing. Years ago I had a CPO Honda Accord I bought that came with a 6 yr/100k warranty. I wouldn’t normally have bought the warranty, but the original owner had and it was transferable, car was priced well, so I figured why not?

When the CEL came on with about 2 months left on the warranty, I took it in to the dealer. It was just a coolant temp sensor, i could've fixed it myself, but hey, warranty! When I went in, the service guy pulled my VIN - he knew it was a CPO car before he even knew it was an Accord. Nonetheless, I had to ask about coverage. He waffles on the whole - it should be covered, I’ll have to check, yadda yadda. That is partly why I haven’t bought a warranty since. But they covered it, and they will cover your trans, too.

Naturally, they were hoping you would shell out their full labor rate, plus the markup on the trans. You've done well with this warranty for sure.
