    It's called integrity

You clearly dont have it...if you did, you'd treat the customers vehicles as if they were your own...regardless of what your manager says

If your manager told you to steal something out of a customer's vehicle...would you? Because not using what they bring in is the same fucking thing...you can justify it all you want but the bottom line is you are acting just as slimy as the manager who is supposedly telling you to do this. If you had ANY integrity you'd say something or go find a different place to work

You took your vehicle to a dealership and only had to pay $23? That's a miracle!

I'd wager that you have no evidence to back up that "Majority of the people on this forum use the dealership" claim. There are dudes on here who have or are building entire suspensions. The fastest documented supercharged Tacoma (owner built) is a member here. My ride goes to my local owned service shop on occasion when I run out of time or have a problem I haven't encountered before. I think you are talking out of your ass to try and justify your slipshod work. YOU stole that Amsoil, YOU use the "old method" (read: faster and incorrect) when your managers aren't looking. It doesn't matter what YOU would do - It matters what the customer pays for. Feel free to go on a crusade to educate everyone on what services you think you worth it, but in the mean time if someone pays for a service - Do the RIGHT service the RIGHT way....and don't steal from your customers either.

He didn't have to have a manager tell him to steal anything - He took that Amsoil from the customer all on his own...

Brunes, you know me by now. I am going to promise to TRY and be as civil as possible here. Please give me a warning and delete my post if you think I have been inappropriate.

This is a simple one. How about you go out, get you a building, invest about $70-80K MINIMUM in tools, hire some techs and run a business. THEN you go see how much you would charge to do all of the listed work. Until you are running an auto business, you know JACK.

Ok, now to the fun one. Kirk, you are what we like to call a "flat rater". The lowest of low scum when it comes to the automotive world. YOU are the tech that gives us good techs a bad name. You are an embarrassment to the profession, and if I knew what your ASE certification number was, I would contact ASE personally and ask them to consider pulling your certification. You should be ashamed of yourself!

I have been an ASE MASTER certified tech for over 20 years. I also hold my Diesel, and L1 recertifications. I also have my degree in automotive technology, and while I don't have a business degree, I have RAN shops in dealerships, and now own my own. I will tell you for a FACT that if you worked for me, you would be FIRED. I would NEVER let someone with the shit morals you have work for MY company, that is for sure! You are a DISGRACE TO THE PROFESSION! I swear techs like you make me SICK TO MY STOMACH. I have worked with them, and every one ended up fired or out of a job at some point. I have had the privilege of firing some myself!

Seeing the quotes that Brunes has brought up further support my belief in your lack of skills and morals. Everyone should take notice right here that YOU are what gives the dealerships a bad name! I pray that somehow ASE finds out about you and strips you of your certification, because you sir, do NOT deserve to have that patch on your arm!!! Shit I better stop before I say something that DOES get me banned.

    AMEN TO THAT!!

Oh, so the thread title is backwards, good for you! You paid more than that wasting your free time chasing shit around you didn't even catch to begin with. Could you work on my truck so I can have the week off instead of wasting it on rotating my tires and changing out a bulb or 2? No matter what, still weak sauce thread fail.........

To the first bold text, it is called CONVENIENCE. I can head to the grocery store and buy a 2 liter coke for $1. Instead when I am heading out I stop by the, get this, CONVENIENCE STORE, and buy a 20oz for $1.49. Why? Because it saves me the time and effort of going into the grocery store. People do not JUST use the dealerships because they don't know how to change a light bulb. They go there because it is convenient for them to do so, and of course they PRAY that someone like YOU doesn't get NEAR their car.

To the second bolded text, how about instead of complain about a service, and why it should be done, or what it really does, EDUCATE yourself and LEARN about the service and what it does. You are by far NOT a tech. you are a wrench turner, nothing more. A REAL tech will learn the DETAILS on a service, not blindly do it because they are told to. I have not performed any services when I was at the dealership that I did not know EXACTLY what the service did, and how it did it. EDUCATE yourself sir.

And oh, by the way, your ASSET certification. Yeah, Ford specific. Just like my ASEP certification is GM specific. I would love to challenge you at any time to see who could out diagnose the other. I work on EVERYTHING here, not just Ford, and my POV. Ever had your head under the trunk of a Lambo? I have. Ever diagnosed a Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes, or Ferrari? Cause I have. You are one of those people who gets a degree and think you know EVERYTHING, when in reality, you know just the basics.

Bottom line here, if the OP has any morals, why didn't he just move on to another repair shop when he was told to 'cut corners' or, I laugh at this one, 'the customer will never know', by his own words he is one of the best mechanics around in his neck of the woods, should have no problem finding an honest shop...

He chose to stay and continue this slimy behavior instead of moving on...

    Bullshit OP.

You are a low life douche. I dont believe that the SM gave you free parts or paid your for parts. If I was an SM or owner and you came in demanding shit like that I would run you out of my shop.

What you claim to have done is just short of thievery - not to mention the other bullshit you claim to pull at work.

You are a nastly slob with little integrity and primarily the reason people DONT take thier vehicles to dealerships for service.

another thing that bothers me at these dealerships is they offer free inspections for the life of the car/truck so they can sell you all these little failed items for 3x the price it is worth. Of course it is good practice to check all of these little things yourself first but...not all can or will do that.

OP you are a piece of shit. quit your job and go work for the government where you belong. As it was said, you give us legit techs a bad name.

Well OP, congratulations, through your tireless antics, banter and lack of integrity we've decided that you're just not working out here so pack up your stuff, your tools and parts and leave. We don't need your shit here.

Hey, Brunes and I resemble that remark!

I haven't read this whole worthless damn thread. But can we not just ban this worthless piece of shit. Hell in some countries shit is worth more than this guy. But he gives each and everyone of us that work on our own cars or choose to work on someone else's a bad name. I usually don't get involved with this crap but this just makes me seriously pissed off. Enough to do some digging and find out where this guy is from and make sure he doesn't touch another person's car again.
