Do the oil myself. They don't include it at the 5k service. They do it at 10k & 20k. They rotate tires, check the fluids, check the wipers, think they grease some things and check the drive shaft bolts.
Oh and the most important part check the floor mats are installed properly so you don't crash.

Nice, yeah i wouldnt even trust them with the engine oil. Good man.

I did my 5k service at my dealer just for shits, wasnt free by the way and i specifically asked for them to grease the zerks. Well nothing was done. I kind of wanted to have the papers/receipts for when i do plan to sell it so the buyer knows my truck is immaculate. Dealer was waste of my money and my time.

I greased the zerks with my buddy that had grease and the gun and i pumped a shitload of grease, like half of the tube. Thanks toyota!

I agree, you need a "trained yota tech to check those mats", its not a joke!

    Is your 5k service free?

Yeah the 5k service is free
The 10k, 15k, 20k and 25k are free too but they basically only change the oil & filter at 10k and 20k
The other services are the same as the 5k one where they rotate to tires and check the fluids.

I will go for the first few and see how they do since the service is included with the purchase of the truck. If I'm not pleased I'll do it myself and go to my mechanic for stuff i don't want to do.

    Funny story.

I took automotive service technician apprenticeship after high school. I worked at Good Year, Nissan, and Ford dealer to get my hours.
If the vehicle was coming in for an oil change and basic service like the 5k yota service, guess who was doing it? Me! haha. I was hung over half of the time and just couldn't wait till the end of my shift so i can go drive around in my car and hang out with friends. Not proud to say that, but that's how it was. I was like 17 at the time. Anyways, Im sure there are good dealers out there, but they are damn hard to find. Good luck.

I retired from 27 years of having company SUV's. 40-50K per year, oil changes at 5k so I was in a quick lube place about 10 times a year.
Since all maintenance was done at quick lube type places, I tried them all- they all pretty much suck.

My pet peeve- the guy removes the oil filler cap and sets it inside down in the dirt somewhere under the hood. Fills the oil, picks up the cap, which now has grit/dirt/etc stuck on it and failing to even wipe it off, puts it back on.

I've had them way underfill and way overfill oil, leave filters loose, leave drain plugs loose, put air cleaner lids back on wrong, etc.

The fleet management company absolutely forbid any quick lube place from doing any sort of auto transmission flush/fluid change. They documented too many expensive failures after they were done, because the guy flushing/changing screwed it up.
