Perform blower motor tsb. Just got back from the Toyota dealer. I explained the truck had the dreaded blower motor chirp. He told me that Toyota was no longer replacing the motor because it would not solve the problem. He went on to tell me that they were working on a permanent solution but had no eta on when it would arrive:(

They installed a new blower motor and a "motor silencer kit" for me about three months ago. I'm pretty sure I heard the chirping again a few days ago.

Where in the Pacific Northwest are you? Broadway Toyota in Portland did mine a couple of months ago with no questions asked.

Dealer changed Mine and it came back. I assume at least you have it on record of problem and when they find a better fix,you should be fine to get the repairs

Did they show you anything written from Toyota that said that, or is it what "some guy" told him?

Until Japan gets back online making stuff, I wouldn't hold your breath on when they finally get a new design.

I replaced the chirping stock P.O.S. with a $35 replacement I found on Amazon. No more problemo.

Just b/c mine could've been warrantied or TSB'd doesn't make a helluva lot of difference to me - $35 bucks, 15 minutes to replace, and no more problem, almost 1 year to date. Money well spent.

    Here's a link for ya:

They have a new blower motor design, or at least, they have a new casing for it. They did the TSB on mine no questions asked, and when I looked back under the dash at what they installed the entire casing is different.

That is BS. I had mine replaced a week or so ago and had the tsb done. The work order said internal defect....they had one in stock and took all of about a half hour for everything. I would say find a new dealer.

Looked at the tsb's today for a 2011. The difference is a build date. Before the date you get a motor and silencer. After just the silencer. As far as i can tell there's no hold on repairs unlike the spring squeak.
    Tsb# is 0092-10.

So make them show you the tsb that says hold or take it somewhere else.
Sorry that's all i can do for you.

It's not a new case, it's a silencer shield. Motor looks just the same as before. The "Casing" fits over the lower part of the motor with an insulating pad inside. :)

Call Toyota USA and tell them what the dealer said they will get it fixed for you.
Any time a dealer gives you problems call their boss Toyota USA problem solved!

Agreed, calling definitely escalates it. Or as suggested, just try a different dealer!

I too am in need of my third blower. #2 is squeeking like crazy. DIY the writeups seem to be working better than the bolt on replacements (with more crap units).

I tell you my 11 Taco is full of squeeks and chirps. I've got a window flex type chirp from somewhere in my cabin (not front shield) that drives me bonkers!

Took mine in yesterday and they said that there was a new TSB out to fix the issue. I tole them that I want a copy, and they said they would print it out when I bring my truck in tomorrow. I also told them that if they didn't fix it, I was going to trade it in for a Nissan.

Of course, that would never happen.
