My dealership puts the Penzoil sticker in the window after Toyota care service. Whatever is the best deal is what I go for.
I change it every 5,000 miles. Last time the oil I used when I preformed the oil change was Shell Rotella gas truck because I was able to get quarts on clearance for $2.29 each.

Now that I see the stores are having low stock and the prices are going up I been buying up some to have on hand. I been buying Supertech @ $21.47/ 5 quart jug.
I see no reason why not use it. It meets Toyota's specs and I will use an oem filter too.

My old ford dealer had four different oils depending on how much you wanted to pay, cheap pennzoil synthetic blend is the $15 oil change advertised special, ford synthetic blend is $30, ford full synthetic is $40, and if you want that warm fuzzy feeling mobil1 full synthetic is $50. Every oil change gets a motorcraft filter.

I've run over four different full synthetic brand oils at once before to use up half used quart bottles I get, never had a issue in either high mileage vehicle I've got.

Ding! Ding! Ding!: Winner Winner: Chicken Dinner!!! You have revealed the "secret handshake"! The "poor [insert oil brand name here] sales rep" with the miserable sales manager comes in and offers the dealership some minor perk (ie: $$$) to put their [insert brand here] oil change reminder sticker from the huge free-roll he gives them in the top left corner of the windshield, and you get whatever "meets SAE requirements 5w-30" is currently in the 15,000 gallon bulk tank buried under the dealership in some secret spot. In other words, whatever is the cheapest bulk rate oil available on this earth. This lasts until the next poor so-and-so rookie sales rep comes by and offers the store $3.00 more than the previous guy.

It's all a "Club": none of us bag-lunch guys can ever get in. If the bulk tank is currently filled with coconut oil and engines start exploding, no one will ever know and all will be denied. "Meets SAE requirement "SP". Too bad, So Sad.

More than likely they just got those stickers for certain oils that they buy in jugs. But most of the oil used, at least in the dealers I worked for, was bulk oil from a local distributor.

All: Listen to this guy. He's smart and obviously an "insider" in the automotive industry. He obviously knows about the giant bulk tank under the dealership with the 20W50 that was on sale last month. I'm getting a quart of everything and mixing it together. Dam dealerships.

I use to work on fleet buses and vehicles; The Pennzoil sticker is the best out there for writing in information on when the oil change was done and when it was needed. We use to order rolls of the Pennzoil stickers because every other option out there sucked. It doesn't mean there is Pennzoil in the motor. Although I've been running Pennzoil Platinum since new and my engine is squeaky clean; 129k miles!

Yeah no idea it that's what they put in but it is a sticker with some good place to print info. Its fine oil for sure.

I got my own oil change stickers many years ago I got a stack of 100 on Amazon.
The main reason was every time I took the jeep I had back to the dealership for warranty or recall work if there wasn't a sticker they would have this whole speech about how they didn't know when it was done so they wanted to do one right now and it was almost like they didn't want you to say no. Didn't matter that I had a log book of my maintenance and repairs it was tracked in. No sticker meant no one ever did it. So now I'll have some to leave in my will.

I miss the long slim ones that they used to put inside the drivers door jam. I'm old I know.

Project Farm tested a lot of synthetic oils, Amsoil and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum ended in the final test for best. I might use Pennzoil Ultra Premium 0-20W for my next oil change after a little more research, much cheaper than Amsoil and ranked much higher than Mobile 1 (which supplies Toyota oil).
