I have tried all the safety stuff that it came with and ended up turning that lane departure off. And the truck has actually slammed the brakes on me twice because a car cut me off on the highway. Made the situation worse and almost got rear ended because of it. So I’m probably going to have me do that auto default off anyways.

But at the same time even if I don’t use it, Id prefer to have everything working regardless of my personal use

I thought the op mentioned waiver was for them performing the recall on a non stick truck?

I still don’t see how you’d be required to sign a waiver to turn it off. It’s not a requirement to use it to drive.

I’m confused about your new tsb statement.

With how messed up tss is seeming on this forum I wouldn't want it on my taco. It works great on my wife's Camry though.

You can do the recall with or without an aftermarket grill. But if you get into an accident with an aftermarket grill on, your legal options will be limited.

    I think you're 100% correct.

You can count the fact that his record file is documented with times, dates, etc., and if there's a problem at some point in the future...Toyota will rub his nose in the fact that they called X number of times, etc.

Coupled with the fact that your purchase agreement from the dealer has a mandatory Arbitration of Disputes clause, thereby eliminating your option to sue (if you ever wanted to), Toyota is on solid legal ground to tell you to "pound sand" if there's ever a problem!

Hmm I don't want to sign a waiver because it limits my rights - I don't want to have the recall done basically

Some people are just a pain in the ass and i'm not talking about Toyota or the dealer.

OP, just go to another dealership. The dealership I went to replaced my sensor in my OEM Pro grille, no questions asked.

Itchy, I guess you skimmed over the part where I'm looking for a Sport grille to use to get the recall done. I make my living managing risk. Avoiding a recall is not in the cards for me as I recognize the down-stream consequences. I also recognize the even greater consequences of signing a release of liability. However I realize what is at play here. I do not believe the dealer is motivated only by altruistic concerns for my personal safety. Rather, more of a risk management campaign required by Toyota, they in turn motivated by the NTSB. I'm on board, but this thread was started to see if anyone had been dehorsed as a result of modified grilles and refusal to sign a waiver. I hope your day only gets better.
