    Hey all,

Ordered a '23 in November and my dealer told me the truck would be in this week. They gave me a bill of sale and I paid for it as a result. Now, they're telling me they don't know what's going on/when it will be delivered and they've made an inquiry with Toyota to investigate. I was not given a VIN but did pay for a specific configuration ('23 SR5 DCLB in silver).

Does anyone dealer-side actually know what's going on? Why would they tell me the truck is coming in then ghost/not know when it's going to arrive?

Wondering if anyone has a similar experience. Thanks.

If I were a betting man, I'd say they're check kiting.
Hot your money to pay up someone else and kick the can down the road.
Then they'll tell you there's an issue and offer you something else.
Happened to me on a Dodge Magnum 5.7L Hemi R/T.
They offered instead a Chrysler Pacifica, lol..
Got the Magnum at the agreed price.

Yeah, sounds like the dealer keeps selling your truck to those willing to overpay. Maybe file a complaint with corporate?

Not a similar experience but I got a Silver 23 SR5 DCLB end of Dec. at a local dealer in Walkerton . It was on the lot so could test drive it . Apparently someones cancelled order .They had it and a white TRD Off road DCSB . If i had waited another 10 days it would have cost more with the MRSP price bump Jan. 1 .

When I was looking they had the 2 new ones and at least 6 or 7 used Tacomas . For some reason since about Feb. I have not seen more than one at a time new or used tacos on the lot or at their sub dealer right near me . I have no idea why . Not sure where the OP is from but maybe our area is getting the short end of the stick on order allocation .
This is a dealership that has been around since I was in high school there over 40 years ago . They have a steady customer base that draws from up to a 2 hour drive .
