I know that dealers have the right to sell as they wish and I know many dealers do it but it just doesn't seem right. The ethical thing would be to have a TRD OR next this SR5 and let the customer see the difference. I see someone who didn't do their homework get screwed down the road when they sell/trade it.

Oh and I have nothing against the SR5, I almost got one but decided for the TRD.

I somewhat agree. I bought there as well. Got my 5K service done there because it's closer. I'm hoping the service department is better than the sales folks.

Unethical? I think so. I would think Toyota would really discourage this kind of thing. Also, I even wonder about the legality of selling a new vehicle with oversized tires and aftermarket stuff pre-installed (I know lots of dealers do ... though here in California I've only seen this with domestic brands). Is the GVWR updated based on the weight of the non-Toyota accessories? Are the vehicle speed sensors and VSC calibrated for the new tire size? Will it affect the EPA fuel economy rating? But what's sadder is to think anyone would buy this ....

    IDK....

Depends on what's included in the $9895 package?

    Nowhere does it say TRD...

I see dealers customize new vehicles all the time...

There are plenty of threads on here debating the pros and cons of modding TRD's vs. SR5's and SR's.

And in my humble opinion there is nothing wrong with someone wanting to purchase this truck.

That truck is ugly. But someone will buy. And hopefully will ask @CBoy808 to make a new bed side for it.

o_O Every Toyota dealership I've been to has lifted trucks brand new. Many have 6" lifted Tundra's, with the front Cross Member chopped right in half, with a 60k price tag. 4Wheel Parts in San Jose always has brand new trucks rolling in for lifts, wheels & tires. I believe the dealers have to warranty everything that is pre-installed as well.

Nothing wrong with it and it's not impersonating a TRD OR.

Park one next to the other and it's like comparing a banana to a mustache.

I remove dealership stickers off my vehicles every time.

If the deal is good, I'd buy it. I wouldn't leave the lot without removing, or having them remove their name from my truck.
