I just hauled 800 lbs. of bagged salt in my bed. Worked great, the truck just leveled out and performed very well.

Ourisman Fairfax Toyota in Fairfax, VA. You have to ask for Ken Gilbert. He is the service director. Don't talk to any of the ASM's as they are all idiots. My truck was the first one that he did. He knew nothing about the TSB, and they rarely service Tacomas, so he called Toyota, got the information, got the approval without even having me prove to him that my truck was bottoming out, and ordered the parts. He was very nice about it and gave me no hassle at all. Although he did make it a point to say that Toyota was doing me a favor since my 2008 was not covered by the TSB, and the only reason they were doing it was because the part numbers for my old springs were the same numbers that were covered by the TSB. From the time I talked to him, to the time the installation was complete took 4 business days! However, you will have to fight with him to get the alignment.

Got my truck back yesterday with standard results. 1 inch taller in the rear. Handles a little diffrent, but the dealer didnt do an allignment after the install. My stearing wheel is canted right about 5 degrees on ecceleration, and strait on hard breaking. They also found that the squeeking that I posted about elsewhere WAS actually the universal joints, and they replace them while they had it. Shes going back on monday to get the allignment done.

This thread was started to address/advise people looking to the the suspension TSB performed. The actual TSB is in the 1st post of this thread. Has to do with the 2nd gen tacoma's bottoming out while carrying a load in the bed.

    **Edit**
You can search through the NHTSA for open TSB's on your year/make/model vehicle.

FINALLY! North Point Toytoa of North Littlerock, AR performed this after about half a dozen trips to the dealership unloaded, loaded, loaded with a trailer, etc...

All said and done it sits a bit higher in the rear and rides like a truck should. I'm liking it. Still haven't put it to the test with some weight though.

Nothing yet, but hopefully Christmas will change that...
Finally got my work done at Freeman (Hurst, TX). Took 3 weeks to get the springs in, but they got me in and out the same day, and did the alignment. No haggling. Very happy with the service and the ride.

    A few bolts are different.
Does anyone agree with me when i say it BS Toyota will not right their wrong with this TSB even if your out of warranty? My payload is sad for a truck that is this big! I haul my ATV, dry weight 415lbs, and the rear slams the bump stops over bumps......WTF I'm just a little mad that only if your in warranty they may fix it. Venting over now.

Ourisman Toyota, Fairfax, VA. 9/30/08. I dealt with Leo Gaballa and Freddy Avelar. No questions asked. They just had to order the parts in advance.

Similar results to everyone else...It finally rides like a truck! Can't wait to hook up the trailer and see how it does!

Beck Toyota in Indianapolis Indiana did the TSB. Third one that they have done. Same results as everyone else. About 1" higher in back and now is ready to work! They did the TSB as stated including the alignment. Thank you members of TW for the valuable help.:D I'll post before and after pics when I get a chance.

Anyone know if they added 08's to the TSB yet? Someone had said maybe Oct. 1. I've had no luck at Pat Lobb Toyota in McKinney, Texas. Still trying. I'm gonna "borrow" sand from Home Depot and try and show the service guys the problem.

I just got my 08 dc back from Freeman Toyota. I dropped it off on Thursday to see if they would do the TSB and they called me that afternoon and said no problem and could have it ready on Friday. It rides great. It had 450lbs in the bed when I picked it up and rides great. I took out the weight and it still rides smooth. Glad I had it done. :)

Yes, they added the 2008's in a new TSB on September 30th! Here is the link to the thread that has the new TSB available for download, courtesy of "BeefTaco" and "Isocoee":

Loaded up 600 lbs of sand from Home Depot Saturday morning, printed the TSB, went to my dealer and showed them the problem. Hopefully this will get fixed now. The service manager was real helpful and is supposed to call me today.

Took the sand back Sat. afternoon!
