i did take the TSB to them...and they printed out their copy as well.

are you sure the part number is on the second page not the first.

there is a chart that says previous part number and current part number. isn't that what they are suppose to order?

Yeah, we're talking about the same chart. The TSB that I have has that chart on the second page. I'm not sure why the difference. Did they order the parts under "current part number?" Surely they didn't, or they'd be right.

The shocks for your truck won't be Bilstein, but you should check to make sure they're not just a new pair of what you already have. I didn't think of that before, but if they messed up the leaf-spring order, the might have messed up the shocks, too.

they order the wrong parts it is that simple, if you look back at this thread you will see this has happened more then a few times. go back to the dealership and insist they order the correct parts and tell them you know for a fact that toyota usa wants a four leaf spring pack installed to correct THEIR mistake.
when you are all done with this you will love the look and ride of you tacoma i know i love mine! good luck and stick to your guns with the dealership and make them do it correctly

Ordered parts from SET and installed within a week of taking my truck in.
I took the TSB with me and showed them and told them it rode harsh.
The service writer saw my TTORA sticker on the back and we ended up talking about wheeling. He rolled his Tacoma on a TTORA Takeover.

After calling the 800 number I took it back today and they put on the correct parts. Apologized for the misunderstanding, apparently it was the first one they have done. Got my new shocks, and the 4 leaf pack. All is good again.

Yep you are correct. The parts department guys could not figure out how to read the TSB correctly so they put the same stock shocks, new, back on my truck the first time.

I had the black Tokico shocks before, and now I have the yellow Billy's. Rides great, more firm, not rough at all. I love it.

Phillip of North Park Toyota of San Antonio just called me to tell me that my parts are in. I will drop the truck off on Wednesday morning (barring any unforeseen difficulties).

Wish me luck.....I really hate stealerships and all the crap they throw at you:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

    [/quote]

As a service advisor at a Toyota dealer i despise the word "stealership" but i have to admit some a-holes do give dealers a bad rap. As the saying goes, one bad apple ruins the bushel. But rest assured there really are good dealers and good service advisors. I have done this TSB to mine and to other trucks for my customers.

Modern Toyota in Winston Salem, NC WILL NOT do the TSB on my truck - they said the suspension was modified and that they didn't see any problems with it. I'm stuck without it....

i had mine done with a revtek lift installed with no problems. i would go to a different dealer even if i had to drive 100-200 miles. even if you cannot get it done you still have a great truck, and if you do not haul much you will never know the difference. thats my 2 cents

Thanks for the advice, ninth - I had to get larger blocks in the rear of mine to level it back out after a load of gravel - it never came back up after that haul...

I'm going to call some other dealers within a half hour and talk to their service departments....

So The Dealer did admit they made a mistake and the wrong parts were ordered. Luckily they weren't installed in the truck. but the right parts came in today......and I got Bilstein Shocks and struts. They are Yellow. aren't those the TRD Shocks and Struts???

P.S. since i have a suspension lift i will not be using these parts. They have zero miles on them and still have the shipping tags on them.

is there anyone who is past the 36,000 mile warrenty and wants the TSB parts for their truck??

I have them and i will be posting them in the classifieds shortly

Picked up mine for North Park Toyota last night.

SWEET! I actually think it rides/handles better than the 3 leaf pack. It isn't as dramatic a change as the 07 Access Cab was, but I am not complaining - mostly because I have my truck back.

quality toyota in fort walton beach florida. this place has the worst reviews of a toyota dealership ive ever seen and when im in a bad mood i like going their and talking to reps about cars and get into really serious engine/drivetrain/electrical systems and watch them stamer around. however, the servious department is filled with a bunch of gearheads who look working on trucks and getting paied to do so. so as soon as i told him i had the TSB and 33.6k miles he said with a grin "i love putting $1k in springs and shocks on a car for free!"

so i take it in monday to get the work done. did all yaw have all 4 shocks replaced??
