I don't know why but they installed a new set of Bilsteins on my 4X4 TRD truck, I asked the mechanic why and he said they had new valving...ok fine by me, I think they probably mis-read the TSB.

Rick Hendricks steped up to the plate. Got truck back today. Stance is nice, ride is firm. Also, did not realize how much of an allignment my truck needed. It even elliminated the 40-50 mph shaky steering wheel issue.

A definate Must Do for those that qualify.

I found this TSB today on this site (thanks TacomaWorld) and called the Toyota Escondido dealer to schedule an appointment. I feel saying the dealerships name is very appropriate in this case as Toyota Escondido CA. was very quick in verifying the TSB number and scheduling an appointment. No problems whatsoever! I am getting it done tomorrow and will report the results once the work is complete. Get it done people!!:D

I got mine done there, too. Did you talk to Douglas? I love Toyota of Escondido. Best Toyota dealership ever.

    2007 Double Cab. Sr5 suspension.

Didn't even blink. They ordered up the TSB parts kit today and will have it in a couple days. Mentioned a couple other Taco owners had the same complaint and fix.

Is it the 3 leaf or 4 leaf spring? A gentleman in an earlier post took a picture after the work was done that showed a 3 leaf spring. Hmmm?

In my opinion, no re-designed 3-pack leaf springs would be equivalent to the 4-leaf springs. Metals have their properties and no matter what the dealerships may tell you, there is no way that so called "re-designed" 3 leaves would equal 4-leaves.... [/quote]

    + 1,

If it was redesigned it will have a new part #. TSB for 05 & up is the same. Old part# replaced with new...

The new pack will be a 4 leaf spring pack.

There isn't a problem in the 3 leaf setup as this is a part of their comfort ride philosophy. Toyota knows thats upwards of 80% percent of owners rarely carry heavy loads so they decided to go with a leaf system that would provide the most comfortable ride for the majority of its customers. They have to offer the optional leaf system because the vehicle is rated for a certain capacity and if you plan to use it to haul then you'll need the updated leafs and you can get them for free but again the average Tacoma driver will never have an issue.

Thanks! I wasn't counting the 4th leaf that doesn't run all the way across. I forgot the name for it.

Very well said indeed. There is a little misinformation in regards to the TSB so it was nice to read a post of someone who got it right.:)
