Serra Toyota in Birmingham Al. completed the TSB on my 2009 Access cab without any problems at all. I also was told by Hoover Toyota that they would also approve the procedure however they were about 30 miles further away from my home.

well its now sitting at BG (actually arlington toyota) for a couple hours so they can check it out. I have a decent amount of weight in the back with tools and stuff, maybe 200 lbs? Not enough to bottom out, but man it sways like crazy when on the highway.

Of course the guy never heard of this problem or tsb before  I also told him about my radio acting all funky so we will see what happens. So far I am NOT impressed with toyota service with warranty work

I went in to try to get the rear spring hash ride TSB yesterday. Chuck Patterson Toyota fit me in at 10:30 in the morning which was fine since i had class at four. It took them two hours to do the "Check Up" and the service writer comes back and says "we've gotta talk about some things." I was confused by her tone, but she said that they can do the TSB but that it will void any other rear suspension warranty(wtf) after the work is finished. Then she told me that there were alot of parts to order so it will take a few days to get the parts in (I am hopefull that this means new shocks too). She said that if they do it, other problems might arise in how the truck handles and i was very suspicious. She alluded to the fact that they get paid for this which i replied that i knew already. I told her to order the parts and they will call me when i need to make an appointment. I'm just happy that i didn't get turned down because it seemed probable. BTW i have an 08 sport dblcab 4x4 12k miles.

I don't think they replace the shocks if you have the bilstein shocks. But they shouldn't give you a hard time over the TSB - they get paid from Toyota to do the work. I have had four TSB issues totalling around $1,800 or more in work and there was never a question about it being fully covered. And I don't believe your warranty should be an issue after the work is done. I would inquire more fully on that, as it potentially voids 1/3 of your coverage on a major component.

This will NOT void any other rear suspension warranty, where the hell did they come up with that??? I am a service writer and I have had this TSB done to my 07, your truck will still be in warranty. I don't see why any dealer would discourage this TSB, after all they get paid....

sounds like bs to me. I have my order list in front of me- shows spring assembly, u bolts, and the shock absorbers. I also have 11K on my '09. the ride seems to have really gone to shit lately. i cant wait to get this done. FWIW, I think I have the "revised" 3 leafs in there now. imo, they need 4 from the factory, or a different material spring.

    Excuse my ignorance...
    What is the TSB for?
I have an 08 TRD sport. Should I take mine in?

This TSB is for a "harsh ride when loaded"
Basically the springs aren't strong enough to hold the weight the truck is rated for. If you use your truck as a truck, I would DEFINETLY recommend getting the new four leaf pack installed. You would not get new shocks or an alignment since you have a TRD, but the ride is like night and day. It has a stiffer ride, and it handles 10 times better. To get this done, the dealer will need to see that you rubber stops on the rear axle have been touching the frame, you should see a clean spot where they have been touching. Load it with at least 400 lbs, drive it over some bumps to insure you have these clean spots, and go into the dealer and tell them magic words....
"my truck rides rough when loaded"
Any decent dealer won't give you any hassles at all. I have performed this TSB on several of my customer's trucks as well as my own. BTW I have not heard of a "revised three leaf pack"...I'm not saying they don't exist but I'm pretty confident they don't:D

I didn't go in with anything in the truck. Just told them it road rough when I had weight on it. I didn't get shocks (TRD), but, they did do a alignment on mine.

It took some complaining, and you could tell they didnt want to do it. I got it done Friday. They did it right the first time. and it drives great. I'll post some pics later.

I went though a major hassle at Moss Brothers Toyota in Moreno Valley Ca.I'll never go to Moss Brothers again ,even though its closer to me.
