I don't get it. They use the exact same leafs for the SR5 and the TRD. I have an SR5 and it came back exactly one inch higher. Why did your TRD come back 2 inches higher?

    :)

Randy Borgman (Yellow Team) helped me out. After looking over my truck and seeing that the spring numbers matched up he came to the waiting area to tell me i could have it done (of course i played stupid and asked him what he was talking about :D) He told me they had the springs in stock  and could do it today. Set me up with a 09 Camry while they were working on my truck, dropped her off at 900am and picked up at 500pm.

Randy is a great guy! Make sure to ask for him

Huskerjim I got that same problem but a 07 with 4700 mi, they won't touch it at no cost, its 1500 worth a parts from the dealer, ive been trying to look for a cheaper alternative but can't seem find anything significant

this is the BS toyota gave me after i emailed a compliant

A TSB is not a recall or a Special Service Campaign.

Our Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) are communications from the manufacturer to our dealerships and are provided to advise our dealerships of additional technical information. They are provided to aid our dealerships in repairing vehicles and to advise of new techniques and any changes in parts or components. They are not an extension of the warranty. They are merely a tool to help our dealerships become more effective in repairing our customers’ vehicles.

If the cost of a TSB service or repair is eligible for warranty coverage, it will be specified in the TSB, and requires that the vehicle be within the original warranty parameters. A TSB does not extend the warranty.

At this time the your Tacoma's leaf springs are beyond the warranty parameters. For this reason, any financial assistance towards the cost of repair remains subject to review. In such cases, Toyota relies upon our dealerships to assist us in such a review, as the dealerships have the ability to assess the vehicle and interact directly with the vehicle owner.

A review of this sort is handled by our corporate contact, the Customer Relations Manager at your local Toyota dealership.

Please contact the Customer Relations Manager of your local Toyota dealership for further assistance

    Too few to list.
A cheaper alternative would be to just do an add a leaf kit. I doubt a dealership would help you out after the warranty since most are already hesitant to do it in warranty.

Instead of spending 1500 dollars on TSB springs, maybe getting the Toytec ultimate lift and the upper control arms would be a better way to go
the add a leaf should cancel out the TSB springs and I can get the truck sitting level, win both ways!

Got it done, already had the TRD Sport 4x4, so I thought I would just get new leafs and that would be it. I got the four leaf spring packs, four new Bilsteins, and an alignment done the same day. Good stuff from RK Toyota!

That's funny because that warranty claim will probably get kicked back due to the fact you have a TRD. The TSB for your truck ONLY calls for rear leaf springs as you already had the bilstein shocks. But I sure as hell wouldn't complain about it...lol

Thats what I saw on the TSB as well, but then I looked at the invoice and they replaced it all. My 07 only has 4500 miles on it, so that's pretty cool.

Rear Leaf TSB just completed on my 2006 Tacoma.
Double Cab, Long Bed Prerunner, 2 Wheel Drive, TRD Sport Package

    Toyota/Scion of Newnan (ATL, GA)

Didn't get any grief at all after complaining about the harsh ride with the load in the back. I was afraid that I may not qualify after reading the latest revision to the TSB as it states 4 wheel drives only. However, they said that the Prerunners were still included.

The truck's back end is up about an inch or two after the new leaf springs were installed. Looks much better. Ride is better as well.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for getting the information out. I would have never known without finding this forum!

Any dealers in south Texas who did the TSB? I hauled a load of tile yesterday and had it sitting just about on the frame. Plus it would help with towing my boat too.
