What is that number? Is it the one in the beginning of my owner's manual?
I went by the dealer today and showed them the TSB but since my truck is an '08 they said they wouldn't do it. Its not showing on the computer yet for '08s. How do I convince them otherwise?

It is a hit or miss, I am told with the '08s. some members are reporting that they have been able to get the work done while others are getting a cold shoulder from some dealers.

The number is in your O/M.

    Good luck....

    Thank you sir.
I've done alittle more searching on this site. There "may" be a redesigned 3 leaf pack for some later '08s. But for the most part your right, its hit or miss with '08s for now.

In my opinion, no re-designed 3-pack leaf springs would be equivalent to the 4-leaf springs. Metals have their properties and no matter what the dealerships may tell you, there is no way that so called "re-designed" 3 leaves would equal 4-leaves....

    faux mod, aka suspension TSB
Add Fred Anderson Toyota in Raleigh, NC to the list of dealers who handled the suspension TSB. Once we got past the initial arguments about if my truck really needs this they did a great job. Replaced the springs, all 4 shocks (I have an SR5) and did the alignment. They left the alignment sheet in my truck when I picked it up.

Bought a used 2006 Double Cab from a friend who wanted the Tundra, How can I tell if it has been modified with the correct rear suspension? When looking at the back I see my truck looks exactly like the pictures above, it has a Blue and yellow type suspension Spring. I havent looked close enough at the part numbers yet? Just wondering.

Klosso Toyota in Appleton WI did my springs on my 08. I did have to go back in for the alignment, even after insisting on it. I'm very happy with the improved springs and I'm still considering helpers to boot, but I need to get the boat out of storage first to get it the true test. Towing the 3500lb boat with my atv and equipment in the back (1000lbs).

Pauly Toyota in Crystal Lake, IL. No problem getting them to do the TSB and it was done right. They also agreed to the tailgate TSB but I haven't had time to get it done yet.

    Edit: Update

Hertrich of Milford De. (Toyota * Scion) performed incorrectly the first time; new 3 leaf on drivers side, new 4 leaf on passenger side.

Left overnight and they corrected it the next day, wrong parts ordered was the reasoning. Not sure if alignment was done, they said it was done (after incorrect installation) but doesn't show on my paperwork.

If I would have know I could have gotten 4 Bilstein shocks & 4-leaf packs on a non TRD truck I might have saved the 2k and not gotten that option...

I'm not sold that non-trd guys should get what the TRD guys paid for.
