Nothing major or fancy. Just stuff to make it work better for me. Running boards, seat covers, BakFlip
Folsom Lake Toyota, Folsom California. No arguments from the service department, scheduled and installed as promised, good people to deal with.

Free coffee and pastries in the waiting room, too. :D

Did they have to schedule this to have the parts? Did they look for wear on the bump stops or just do it for you? Also did they do an alignment? I haven't actually put mine on the bump stops but have come close. I wasn't happy the first time I loaded it down. Only had roughly 400 lbs and it was within a half inch or less to be on the stops. So I'm wondering if I need to actually have some wear or if they will just do this based on my not being happy?

Also had this thought in mind as I know I already want to level the truck, so I was thinking so I didn't have to pay for an alignment, maybe I could put front 5100's on right before having the TSB done. Or would they just look at me like I'm doing it for a "free lift"?

^Im in the same situation. I want to put a lift on, then maybe go have the TSB done so i can get a free alignment, but will they be ok with that?

They had to order the parts. They gave me a rental car to drive while doing the TSB. They didn't look at my truck. I think they did the rear alignment only. It was last year, I can't remember. See my attachment.

If you put a lift on before the TSB, that may void the TSB. Check with your dealer.

This is what I'm thinking. And if they only did the rear alignment, which I don't see why they would do the front, then I guess that idea is out. Just trying to not have to pay for something if it's getting done anyway.

You still under warranty? I thought you have to be under the warranty to get the TSB and I see you have an 05.

Teton Toyota in Idaho Falls Idaho did my TSB, great guys, very helpful. It's a 100 mile drive for me, they told me they had to "look" at it and if approved order parts and set a second appointment to actually do the TSB. When I got there they looked at it and actually had the TSB on site (someone else didn't pick theirs up) so they installed it on the spot for me and gave me a rental so I could run errands while they did the work.

Ressler Toyota on the other hand looked at it and denied the full existance of the TSB to me even when I was telling them how to find it, said that it was already fixed being a 2011 yada yada. I'll avoid using them unless I break down in their lot.

    .
Yeah, this is a weird TSB ... had 1 dealer give me problems on a 2009 that needed the TSB. Went back later (to same dealership) and talked to a different guy and it went through with no problem.

Owned a 2011 and had the same experience ... said no .. then said yes.

Now, I have a 2012 and I wonder what it will be like this time around.

Took 2011 Tacoma to Toyota of North Charlotte in Huntersville. Made appointment on their internet site. Referenced the TSB. Within a day, they called me back to confirm my appointment day and time that I requested. They went over the TSB and told me that it would be free of charge. Took truck in and 2 hours later it was done. Ride seems better since I have loaded full with lumber. GREAT JOB!

For those on Long Island in New York, i had it done last week at Westbury Toyota. Went in, told them the isssue and brought a copy of the TSB. Took them about an hr to 'inspect' it. Service manager came out and said they ordered the parts, will call me next week when the parts come in. Dropped truck off following week and they had it done in 3.5hrs. They were actually great to work with. I had taken a ton of pictures showing the truck loaded to show them as proof, but didnt even need to show them.

I had brought it to Penn Toyota in Greenvale initially and it was just a major waste of time. Took them 3.5hrs to 'inspect' it. Even showed them the TSB and they said 'nothing is wrong'. Didnt feel like fighting them on it so brought it to the other dealer.

First off, thanks to everyone on the forum...long time reader, first time poster :) Anyway, I had the rear leaf TSB done on my 2010 at Toyota of Braintree in Braintree MA. I played the nice guy card and told them that when I had the bed loaded it seemed like it was bottoming out and the ride was very HARSH even though the load wasn't over limit and asked if there was any service bullitin or TSB for that sort of thing. He played dumb, though nice, and said that he wasn't aware of a TSB for the 2010...at which point I reached for my folder and told him that I actually had a print out of a TSB that I thought was for my truck. He quickly told me there was no need, that he trusted me, and would go talk to the guys in the shop. Long story short, they did the TSB; however, failed to tighten the passenger rear and driver's side fron struts all the way and they started rattleing before I got home. It was like pulling teeth to get them to check and tighten the suspension components. DO NOT trust this dealership for quality (or timely) work...but I think part of their disorganization makes them pretty willing to do TSB work when (politely) confronted with the facts. Hope this helps the next guy...
