Sort of found out on my Google News page and when dealership contacted me to reschedule my wheel alignment for next week because of an “system outage” June 19

Looks like CDK Global (company that provides softwares to many US dealerships) got hit with a ransomware attack - also affecting Toyota dealerships

I’ve seen potential customer impact being credit/personal info compromised

I thought it was just the sales departments like a group of disgruntled customers seeking retaliation or something lol. It turns out it affects service too.Wondering if customer info was obtained?

So worst case scenario is that the Automotive industry may now need to supply America with credit protection policies for 12 months? No matter how you look at it, it doesn't sound good.

It’s been a cluster @ blue oval service department. We have been pushing forward with work doing everything old school. Parts department is really F’d also. I have no clue what is happening on the retail side of things since we are not on the same property but commercial sales is moving units. Friday we had no new information from Dearborn or parent company. You betcha there is a ton of customer information on CDK.

A majority of our dealerships staff have been sent home each day. Our Sales Dept. are unable to generate new contracts for any potential new/used car sales/lease's. Sales can't special order exactly what the customer wants as far as Color, Trim Levels and any additional Options, it just goes on and on how disruptive the cyber attack really is. Our Parts Dept is nearly at a stand still. The Front Counter guys are ready to just give up. The Back Parts Counter guys that I deal with are probably a week behind in processing the Part Req's that we give them for each of our Repair Orders. I have quite a few Repair Orders waiting for approval/authorization that are on hold because the Service Adviser or myself can't get into the system.

Generating a detailed Parts Request by hand is a tedious and time consuming task

The Toyota Dealership that's next door to me is also effected. The Front Parts Counter Guy used Google Search to verify the part numbers that I gave him.
