I had a gen1 and a 4x4 hi lux and both never had as bad pan bolts as this truck, each of those previous trucks I broke 1 pan bolt the first time I removed them, im almost sure the gen1 used bigger bolts m10x1.25 if im not mistaken a big problem is over torqued from the factory then they corrode.

So you’re saying there isn’t s metal sleeve going through the rubber bushing on the control arms?

Thats what the rubber bonds to, the camber plates are fixed to that sleeve.

Ok I was thinking it was more like a shock that had a bolt going through a metal sleeve with rubber bushing vulcanized to the sleeve.

Those plates are known for being really weak and prone to breaking. That’s why total chaos make much beefier Weldon replacements. When I had my truck aligned after suspension kit install the alignment shop warned me ahead of time about them. I was previously aware of it and told him I’d keep my fingers crossed. I’m not an alignment expert at all but I remember hearing them say something about an adjustment that they do to compensate for road crown.

in my case I think the tech was under the gun to get my truck out of the garage because of the time spent on it, they had the truck at least 10 hours for a job that normally takes 3-4 hours? im thinking the tech wasn't experienced with the issues of a Tacoma as far as the cams and rusted bolts and went into overtime to try and get it out the door, with the service manager up his butt saying too much time for what we charged for the job.im going to call a good frame and body place I know and ask about those cams and see if they could take a look, I would probably have to pay for another alignment if they tried to improve the situation. I definetly would like one of their techs to road test to see about the 12:03 steering wheel.

I got another interesting update on this situation, I took my truck to a very good experienced frame and axle general repair place ive done business with to look over the job on my struts, the owner put it on his lift just to take a look and reviewed the alignment numbers, basically he said that due to the circumstances with the froze up cams I came away pretty well off, the dealership really had to lever the front passenger cam to get the needed numbers and bent its guides to do so and he said it didn't look as if they ripped the LC bushing which would have made a bad situation but it did look a little twisted, he also mentioned that the12:03 o clock steering wheel is an easy fix using the tie rod ends and that shouldn't effect the alignment and I should call the dealer for a free adjustment. I called the dealer service person and asked if the could straighten the wheel for me and she said that they would have to start all over and use the alignment rack to adjust it(personally I felt she was trying to avoid me and the truck) so I said no I don't want to open another can of worms and this time they would rip the LC bushings or worse. I got 2 emails for service reviews and one was from Toyota basically from 1-10 stars and ten stars would be fantastic and gave them 4-5 stars and mentioned the steering wheel adjustment denial(avoidance). and got a phone call from the girl service advisor asking me why I didn't give them a 10 star across the board, I said because it was average to less than average as I gave u, she said we want to see 10 stars, no way.

Stick to your guns. They dropped the ball by giving you the run around.

I think the rating should be less than what you submitted.

I don't see that SW keeping their job with this type of performance.
