I would guess that the DCLB model makes up about 1 out of 10 Tacoma trucks made. Kinda rare.

Yes, I just figured the OP would save 10 grand if he didn't care THAT much about LB.

I sent an email that’s too good to pass up if it’s real

Completely agree. That one is a GREAT deal.
    Edit: Plus it's a manual!

Sounds like a fair deal, finding a manual and a long bed is pretty much impossible, from my experience. Just watch for previous ownership, it could have been a commercial/work truck and was beat up... The condition of the plastic bed(liner) will tell you. Also interior wear.

It's actually a short bed, and with 29k miles for a 2020 the wear should be minimal.

Do come back here and let us know the details, like is it real? Great shape? Did you buy it, etc.

Ill report back if anything comes of this. sadly no response though, but I kind of think its either sold already or a scam. well see if I get hit with the "can you put a deposit?"

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
I really wanted a long bed. But finding them, let alone a good price? I took the short bed.

Of course. Recently sold a vehicle easily in just a few days using it. Way easier to navigate to exactly what you want than that mess over on fakebook.

How much do Dealerships really make on the sale of a vehicle? You'll never know!
I worked in and around New Car Dealerships for years from everything including a lot boy up to an Insurance Agent covering all aspects of the business. Including a new and used salesperson.
There are all kinds of incentives from the manufacturer to the dealership on a constant floating basis. Factors such as what time of the month or what sales quarter to
how long a vehicle has been on the lot and flooring costs.
Best way to get your best deal and not get hosed! Do your research, shop locally and within a reasonable radius. Take whatever medicinal assistance you need so when you step
on the lot you don't get carried away with the emotions of buying a new or used vehicle.
Get pre-approved from your bank or credit union. Try and get a ballpark quote from your Insurance Carrier as to what the cost will be.
Be willing to walk if whomever you are working with just does not give you a good vibe.
Last new vehicle I purchased (May 2024) it took me over a year of searching around and contemplating my purchase.
Don't buy all the extra crap the F&I person will try and sell you to add on to the total cost of the vehicle.

Last year I found a unicorn: 2018, access cab, 6 foot bed, v6, manual with 52k on it. Got it gold certified for 29k out the door after they gave me a measly 1k for my dilapidated Kia Sorento. They had it listed as an SR5 but it was actually a TRD sport. Massive upgrade for a doable price. I found the paperwork from when it sold to the original owner for 33k.

Pretty much what I just did, only spent 4-5 weeks researching instead of a year.

that craigslist post was a scam, I found the original listing on FB marketplace for $40k

Thanks for all the advice, and yes it all seems arbitrary and made up. 'discounts' don't really exist on a used car, there's no longer a relevant MSRP to discount against. too many factors after it leaves the lot and spends 2,3,4 years on the road.

What I've also learned during this hunt is ALOT of people trade in Tacomas for bigger trucks. So Chevy, Dodge, Ford dealerships have Tacomas all over (and for better prices than Gold Cert at Toyota). I know there's some worth to a 1yr warranty, but, idk if it's worth $3000 extra.

If anyone else is on the hunt, Carfax is a great way to sort+filter to exactly what you want, and they will show listings from all sellers, not just Toyota dealers.
