Ok full disclosure, I've never been to a jiffy lube, only the Mobil 1 lube because my Prius deserved the best.

You know better than anyone here the Dealers have ripped more people off than any jiffy lube. They sure as heck (hell) have stripped more lug nuts, oil drain pan bolts and not rotated any tires more than jiffy lube.

If i'm going to have a dick broke off in my ass it's going to happen at the following places:

    The dealer or the dentist.

Jiffy Lube, I won't even send a sex starved cool anal loving wine aunt there with a coupon with her Highlander.

jiffy lube can kiss my ass... punk kids that work there removed one of my rear alignment bolt on my lexus.. after a month of driving it i found the missing bolt. at that point its too late...it is never the same... for a few dollars more at the dealer for an oil change is worth my peace of mind...

After several minutes, I've thought long and hard. You're right, you're bloody well right.

I definitely would prefer the classic style.

They don't let you out of your car, especially with you know what's going on. You can take a shit at any Dealer or Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts, Dunkin is the best because you don't have to buy coffee and they're single bathrooms you don't have to share with.........

Oil change, tire rotation, and some multi point inspection was around $120 here in ct. by the dealer. I can get the same done at a NAPA area shop thats certified for all toyotas for around $75 that thats been doing our prius for years.

Ya. was thinking the same, What tools?? I wouldn't let the dealership do anything if I could help it. Yes they use original parts, & get ready they will say you need plenty of them!!!

My now retired mechanic use to change my oil. He hated it and told me he would charge a premium and should take it elsewhere. I paid the premium because I would have it there for another reason, he never cheated me. He would quote a price and sometimes charge less as it didn’t take the time that was in the book. My new to me taco is under extended warranty from certification program so I get my oil changes free there. The dealer when asked provided the entire history (4 years) in a print out. I’ll take free from the dealer while it lasts, after that maybe dealer but never JL they screwed up a drain plug years back and won’t relive that experience.

I’m definitely old school lol. I’ve seen some here on TW do a conversion from cartridge to spin on oil filter.

I like how I can drain the new style first, but don't like that I have to get all new tools. But a lot of vehicles are turning this direction. I believe both Ford F150 EcoBoost engines have cartridge filters (the 2.7L does for sure). Not entirely sure what makes it better, if anything. Maybe less waste?

When I do oil changes I have a local shop do it for me but I supply my own oil and filter . Also this shop will always give me $20 off for labor

why? I’ve been taking my RAV4 to the dealer since I got it, never an issue. When I worked outside and had a company truck, Jiffy Lube paid for 2 engines. Once they didn’t put oil in and the 2nd time they didn’t put the plug in.

Used to work at a dealership years ago.
The newest most inexperienced mechanics did the oil changes.
I'm old and I do my own oil changes.
