How much did it cost them to build the factories where the parts are made by the thousands? Like 5 dollar parts just fall out of the sky?

Why should they sell you a part at a discount the first time you walk in? Buy 10s of thousands of dollars worth of parts a year (like a body or repair shop) and then you'll get a wholesale discount too. That's how it works

It's funny how guys get so hot under the collar about it. Throwing out words like "scum" and "robbery"..

If you don't like it, go somewhere else

Not sure what you're talking about.
Usually I "go" onto the floor, and turn the wrench

Dealer A offers aftermarket parts through a distributor for customers on a budget.
They have different labor pricing options, discounts/sales, and a common percentage of markup.
They are able to retain more sales, and still make money (albeit not as much as normal sometimes) because they have the common sense to realize some money is better than none, and losing a customer entirely. Versus retaining that customer long-term and them being more likely to approve more work.
Quality aftermarket parts. Not shit ones.
And sometimes knocking an hour or two of labor off of a big job to get the sale.

Dealer B on the other hand, does not give a fuck about any of that.
They take the OE part, double the price, and charge significantly more than every other dealer in the same area, that works on the same brand.
That the customer then easily figures out by simply making a few phone calls.
    I have seen this myself

    They pay themselves

I'm pretty sure we're agreeing on most of this stuff. Sometimes it's hard to tell if you are explaining or complaining

I hate to ask this question this late in the thread but........ do you suppose the coil was really bad? We seldom hear of that particular problem on here. Just on general principle, buy a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner and follow the instructions on it. The important chemical additive in it is called PEA and it will do wonders for injectors - that are simply left in place.

Rachel - Try hard to find an honest, common sense advisor who will help you navigate these service issues.
