Maybe I wasnt clear, but what I meant was if he was out on a black diamond trail and flipped the rig, clearly that would constitute as "operator error" but if what if OP (or I) live on a dirt road, are the drums gonna go out as result of repetitive driving on a dusty road with dust/dirt getting in them, do I need to wash my drums out every morning after I brush my teeth? On a separate note, lets keep the name calling to the COD matches you play with your friends

If it was a one off... Why didn't they replace the defective part?

To all the people reading this thread that have some semblance of logic or are willing to learn:

Please remember that, when reading posts about problems with Tacomas, you are only getting ONE SIDE OF THE STORY. Never be too quick to judge until you hear the whole story! Also, this thread is an example of responsibility. Sometimes you just gotta man up and admit it, instead of blaming everyone but yourself. I am humbled by this concept on a daily basis.

Ive creeped on you before! Truck looks killer.

I like the pro wheels but really like my methods better.

I believe they have similar specs too, IIRC.

    Mine are 16x8, 0 offset.

Remind me of your wheels specs...

Yup. OP also had cv Joint damage and was missing a bumper cap. He also knew about the brakes needing to be cleaned. Toyota shouldn’t have to pay for any damages done by the driver.

I still don't understand the bumper cap issue.

He said he service advisor woman TOOK A PICTURE to show him he had missing bumper cap.

He couldn't see that on his own truck

I think the missing bumper cap shows how he maintains his Truck.
He is missing a bumper cap. Has torn cv joints. Knows his brakes needed to be cleaned and did nothing about it.

To me if I don't know my CV is torn or dirty brakes....I can see a lot of people missing that. But missing bumper caps.... YIKES

Yeah bub, driving on a dirt road is the same scenario as soaking drums in thick mud soup for a half hour, then having the dealer tell you to clean them out, THEN ignoring them and blowing up the drum

I am assuming that when he was off-roading he hit something to damage his cv joints and that would have made a terrible sound. I would then look underneath my truck for any damages.

    Funny thing is

This happened back in December. Everything was done then. OP decided to start another thread, making it seem like its happening "in the present."

    OP troll skills are weak..

How could Toyota possibly prevent mud intrusion into the brake area?
I'll be honest, I haven't done any muddy off roading that extreme in my truck and would have never thought to look for mud in the brakes but now I know (drums are better?)
If I had went bogging and I damaged parts, I also wouldn't expect the dealer to fix it either unless the parts failed without any outside help.
It's all good. Live and learn and be wiser for it.
