I had my fluid flushed about 3 weeks ago, been driving on pavement since then. The service advisor told me they hook their machine to the tranny cooler lines and that's how it cycles old out and new in. The lines don't appear to be touched. Fill hole, not touched. Drain plug, not touched. Check valve, not touched. They had it for 3 days and charged $376.

Anyone here know if the tranny cooler lines is where the machine hooks too or am I missing something? The service advisor told me that's where the machine hooks but there's clearly no marks.

I would first reach out to the service leader for an answer.

I just messaged him. I'm just curious if any techs on here could clarify where the machine hooks up too. I was told the tranny cooler but that's clearly not touched.

Did you check the tranny cooler lines up by the grill?

Look at the radiator where the transmission lines go into it.

I once had a 2013 Fj . Had the dealer do the oil change. When I arrived home, I checked the oil. It was still dirty (dark). Went back and complained to my service adviser. He had the nerve to tell me it’s normal and that’s because when you change the oil, there’s still dirty oil left behind. I told him BS. Told him I will have my Fj oil replaced at another dealer and ask that dealer if the first dealer really did the oil change. Long story short, he have me wait and they did the oil change this time. That was the last time I went to that dealership for any service .left them a bad review . They called and I said BS to them .
So from my experience, it’s possible they never did the trans flush.they have cameras in the bay and ask for proof of any work done.

I am, just waiting on a tech to tell me that's the exact spot they hook the machine too. Trying to get more leverage on their asses when I walk in there with big balls and a cup of tea.

i have always thought it is where the tranny lines go into the bottom of the radiator. there is a in and a out seems the best way.
i am going to brake my rule here and refer to my old dakota, no tranny cooler and they used the lines to the radiator.

They stuck it to me on an oil change on my daughter's Rav4 this week. 15,000 mile service so all I was paying for was the oil change. Charged me $81.37. They are a closer drive to me but I will be heading back to Estabrook from now on. They charge about $20 less.

For the folks that notice, I am a 5000 mile oil change kinda guy.

If I use the dealer, I go in and ask for "just an oil change" - I never say "give me a 20K/30k/60k service" and always just give them a list of a la carte stuff I want them to do. Otherwise it is 50 million inspections and unnecessary cabin air filter replacements for $59.95 and $29.99 ZAK oil treatments snuck onto the bill.

One complaint I have with the Gen 2 & 3 is the “sealed” transmission. There should be a way to check the quality and level of the fluid without having to trust the mechanic.

my wife’s BMW has no oil or transmission dipstick. I couldn’t prove that the oil has ever been changed. We paid for oil changes but who knows if was actually done?

Fluid changes should be easier not harder. I think a there is a push from the EPA to make DYI service and repairs more difficult because they are afraid that we will not properly dispose of the used fluids.

    I'm the same way.
I went in and gave them specifically what I want done. Even brought them the TSB papers that I wanted applied.
