I used to get this all the time about my ‘08. Finally told the guy if he could get me a ‘15 off-road and have the mechanics swap all my aftermarket stuff onto it I’d trade them straight up. That was a year ago. Haven’t heard back since.

got one of those recently too. My truck is far from what they "want" but thought about seeing what they would offer just for kicks.

all dealerships send that out, so they can get you to finance with them on a new car. just a way to re-chain you to a new credit line

Maybe this is marketing. Maybe this is sales. But at the end of the day it is just a financial transaction. I got one of these letters once on my BMW X3. Most of the time I just throw them out but I wanted to see what the dealer value of the car was versus Blue Book. Dealer came back with a very enticing upgrade offer that made great financial sense so I took the deal.

So yes this is the dealer looking to drum up business -- after all they do sell cars for a living. 90% of the time the deal makes no sense but I found it is worth checking it out at least once.

Don't. You have no debt on that - no debt. You really like what you've got. You say it runs good, no rust. And it is a good looking machine.

It's hilarious to see "the dealer wants to buy my truck and give me lots of money" threads pop up occasionally.

Don't people realize dealers are not a charity and they are out to make money as ruthlessly as they can?

I still get offers from the dealership that they want to buy back my 2013 Rubicon...even though I sold it in 2015.
