Sorry to be a busted record. The purpose of this post is to merely share experiences that I have had. When I bought my truck, I was traveling, A LOT for work--Power Plant Inspector. What time I did have, was dedicated to my family. With that, I put the integrity of my truck with Toyota.

I now work in SE New Mexico, Petroleum Landman. I needed a service done. So I took it into the local dealer, not the one that I usually use (names omitted) and asked them to do my service and correlating inspection, easy. I also asked them to look at a few things that needed attention.

They called me a hour later and said and said everything was done and I could pick up my truck. I commented, 'Wow, that was quick.." I got, my truck and went back to work. Later on, after I got back to the house. I noticed one of the items I requested them to look at was untouched.

I started to dig, the oil wasn't changed, required. The motor has a fine layer of dust, no prints on airbox (filter was dirty) or oil fill cap, corrosion on battery terminals and fluids were not topped off. The invoice I got completely contradicted this. I hit stratosphere, they completely pencil-whipped my inspection. I took a bunch of pictures with the invoice and fired it off to corporate. I then called the dealership and inquired why they pencil-whipped my inspection. The Service Manager had left for the day.

The following day the Service Manager called me and assured me his techs wouldn't do anything like that and that the inspection was accomplished. He also requested me to bring my truck back and he would prove it to me. I played along out of curiosity. I got down there, we popped the hood and he proceeded to b_______t me. Then told me that he used to build race car motors. I replied, "Cool story bub, I used to overhaul and troubleshoot jet engines for fighter aircraft for 23 years and I'm also a crash investigator." No reply. I told him, this was a direct reflection of him, pointed out the obvious on my motor, jumped in my truck and left.

This wasn't the only one, but by far the worst. I have started to do my own maintenance. The first time I did a full-blown inspection and look-see with the help of this site and factory manual, I was pretty disappointed. I think there is a pride in doing it yourself and piece of mind.

A lesson indeed. I think my blood pressure bouncing off the rev limiter was the worst of it. Luckily, I still have low miles.

Post the name of the dealer here so members can avoid it. No reason to leave it undisclosed. Write a bad review on google

That’s why you get a dash cam had you had the evidence to back up your claim you would own that dealership. Instead you are here spreading innuendo as the dealership is not named...next time spend the money and be smart.

I've seen techs these days uninstalling the dash cam when it gets into the shop.

Just playing devil's advocate here for some perspective...

Are you absolutely certain they didn't inspect the vehicle (oftentimes service departments simply inspect what they feel should be inspected based on the miles/condition of the vehicle)? How many miles on the oil (if significantly less than the recommended then perhaps they don't see a need to replace it)? Did you actually pay for the oil change? Were any of the fluids actually low when you picked up the truck?

Not saying your complaints aren't justified, just trying to make sure I understand both sides of the story.

Sorry you found a bad dealer. Guess what... there are bad dealers. There are also really good dealers that go above and beyond for a fair price. Just like pretty much everything in life.
Wonder why people post when they are dissatisfied and not when things go right? Human nature.
If I listed all the shoddy companies I have worked with over the years, and also as a result, started doing it myself, I would be building my own house, wiring, plumbing, landscaping, building a couch and recliner, building my own lightbulbs, drawing my own pipe, digging my own well, building my own skid steer, building my own truck, etc.
Everyone is proud that they change their own oil. Well, there is a reason they hire a high school kid with no experience to change oil at dealers. It's not hard lol.

Dealerships always pencil whip those inspections. I had literally replaced the cabin filter and engine air filter one day prior to my 30,000 mile checkup they said "everythings good but you need new cabin and engine filter" i laughed "weird seeing as I replaced them yesterday" Dealerships and everyone who works for them are terrible people.

Roswell Toyota was the offender. I also had issues with Larry Miller Toyota in Albuquerque.

That's the exact point, it's so easy dumbass high school kids can do it, no reason not to do it.

Corporate did not. They wanted to punt it to the dealership. I told them I had a Toyota truck, not a Roswell truck. I honestly thought that they would be interested in the nonsense occurring at the dealership level, not so much unfortunately.

Larry Miller was ok... They did do an inspection (interval) over a year in advance. I asked them about it and why it was done. They said that Service Manager had "left" so they could not provide me with a explanation. They said they would re-accomplish it but would charge me for any fluid changes.

I have to be honest, this left me in a bad way. I think that over time, folks get desensitized and you're treated as a number and the issue you bring up holds about as much meaning as the last one or the last five. However, as previously stated, "Not all are bad." This does hold credence and should be highlighted.
