Dealerships must be getting a bit desperate

Anyone else getting these offers ?

Just got this email + a Phone call + a text message from same sales rep offering me a "special deal" on a new Tundra and apparently Tacoma as well.

Ya, Not this year skippy. Definitely not a tundra with their problems and with the 2024 transmission issues that takes the 24' Tacoma off my list as well.

Not desperate, all car sales people have been doing this for years. Throw out the line and sometimes they get a bite.

 

Whatever you want to call it, I got an email from Gladstone Toyota offering $4850 off MSRP on a 2024 Tacoma and $10,959 off MSRP on a 2024 Tundra.

 

Geeze, the best you can hope for up here in Canada is msrp if you can even find a 2024.

Capstones are moving slow but dealers are most likely trying to get rid of their 2024 inventory. I got 6K off MSRP on a non-TRD Limited Tundra a few months ago in Nor Cal but the SR5's and anything with the TRD packages seem to be more like 2-3 below MSRP.

 

This is what I got and thought it was a joke until I went by and found out it was legit. The middle is the Sr5 limited I could have gotten for around 50, the bottom is a rear wheel drive I could have gotten for 13.

 

Now that’s wild.

 

Nobody's going to point out that the email was sent by Jackie Yan.

 

Tacoma transmissions are fine…..so far. A few failures on a new launch is to be expected.
The Tundra engine is a problem.

 

Lil Kenny TV will frequently visit Gladstone Toyota. Gladstone has lots of Tacomas and discounts listed on the windows.

They keep calling me to buy back my 2021 SR5.
I keep telling them I'll take $75,000 in cash but will accept 50% down and will self-finance at 25% on approved credit.

Then I use colorful language and hang up on 'em.

 

They're just doing their job. Instead of being rude I just ask them to take me off their phone list.

 

This! It's an age old tactic, I have been getting these calls forever. You are in their system, and to them it's a lead
