June 2020 I paid $4k under MSRP including the Pro skid plate and Weathertech floor mats. Pretty sad that people have to hunt around just to pay MSRP.

Amazing. I stopped by the dealership in my hood this week. Priority Toyota in Chesapeake just a few minutes north is still slapping thousands-dollar markups on everything. People will remember this.

Got $2745 off MSRP on my 2020 TRD Sport 4X4. This was done on the phone too. Dealer had the truck delivered the next day. This was a pleasant experience. :)

Fred Anderson, Raleigh NC. It was a good buying experience.

AND they actually used my truck in one of their 10 minute YouTube videos which I thought was pretty cool (I know it’s my truck in the video because of the Vin). They did the video the same day I came to test drive and buy it.

I got 1k under MSRP on a future allocation in May of 2021 at Greentree Toyota in Danbury, Ct. I had no trade, and I had my own financing , two typical ways the dealers make extra on a sale. The F&I guy also took no for an answer when they asked about buying extra warranties etc. They were extremely fair and easy to deal with .

At the end of June when I picked it up my salesman did say that they were no longer discounting Tacomas , simply because they don’t have to. I kind of believed him, as inventory had already started to get extremely low nationwide back then. But they still honored our agreed price and everything went smoothly.

I’ll definitely have them at the top of my list when it comes time to buy a 4th gen.

I think they shifted over to $5-$10k markups unfortunately.

Some details? Did you order and waited? Did you walk in and took one available on the lot?

In Canada, there doesn’t seem to be dealerships selling over MSRP (AFAIK). Paid MSRP for my TRD Pro and got $1,800CAD of accessories. I ordered a 2021 in June 2021 and got a 2022 in April 2022. Buckingham Toyota (Quebec, Canada).

I bought mine exactly one month ago and I got it at MSRP. Could they have changed since then?

Edit: I just checked their website and according to that they are still selling at MSRP, even for TRD Pro’s.

Man finding anything close to MSRP here in Oklahoma is next to impossible. Even checked dealers in the DFW area: No dice.

I've been trying to get a red SR5 double cab w/6 ft bed, and so far the best I've been able to find is about $1,200 over MSRP. Highest volume dealer in the state wouldn't go below $1,900 over MSRP and called it a "tinting package," which was just frustrating beyond belief. Another said they'd try to get one off an allocation for $1,400 over MSRP.

Worst story is one dealer who said they'd show you their "best price" immediately if you gave them your email, but then in the email said "web prices don't include dealer addendum of $1,195 for windshield chip protection and upholstery damage repair." Gouge, gouge, gouge.

Wish I could find one of those sticker-price dealerships, but doesn't look like it's going to happen.

You sure? Tacomas and Tundras are the most abundant new vehicles on the lot for most dealerships now. I can see them mark up like TRD Pros, but any other trims I'm sure they'll beg you to buy at MSRP give it a month or so.

Well, I've been talking with the dealers here in the metro OKC area, a large volume dealer in Tulsa, and two dealers in the DFW area, and they all sing the same song....One of those dealers was making it seem like a great deal to take $1,000 off their $2,895 tinting add-on. I told them I can't justify paying $1,900 for window tint.

I also thought a more basic (non TRD, non Limited) version would lean to more flexibility, but not so far.

A month ago when I was shopping around Molle and Olathe Toyota were the only 2 Kansas City area dealerships selling at MSRP. All the others were adding $3K to MSRP and the Toyota dealership in Topeka, Kansas was charging $5K over.
