Crown is no longer MSRP since the ownership change.

Every dealer in the AL/GA area were no refundable ranging from $500-2000. The sales manager at Valdosta told me the reason they switched from non refundable was so many people were putting deposits down growing inpatient then asking for refunds. That incurs fees etc to them.

ive seen folks on here put down deposits at multiple dealers if they were refundable.
then yank em back when 1 came in. I usually dont take up for dealers, but i dont think thats right.

Basically in SoCal, the ONLY dealership that’s not marking up is Longo Toyota in El Monte. Crown Toyota in Ontario has a mandatory BS add on package of $1,500 now. Definitely don’t buy from them.

Same, I get it when a dealer can’t fulfill an allocation or changes the deal terms but otherwise you committed to a purchase so live up to your part of the deal and word.

I have encountered three types of dealers here in NC.

    1. Pure Market adjustment (and possibly junk fees). I have not even bothered with these.
    2. Dealer junk fees/packages. Their quality varies by dealer. I have seen them from $700 to up to $2500. They include an assortment of things like free oil changes, loaner cars, warranties, locking nuts, undercoating, fabric treatment, tint, nitrogen tire fill, dealer prep, etc. It is up to the individual to decide if it is worth it to them, but I think most people agree it is junk.
    3. Dealers that charge MSRP but insist that they must include some number of SET port accessories that they "Can't do anything to remove." The first dealer I was working with insisted they had to include four SET packages and they refuse to remove any. The dealer I finally made a deal with stripped off all SET options except the TOYOGUARD Premium. I almost had a deal on a truck that had no SET options but in my experience if the Toyoguard is on the allocation the dealers won't remove it. But there are some SET allocations without the Toyoguard. So this is as close as I have found to MSRP.

Also SET here and similar, once at port it is hard to remove any of these, but any of the allocations I found early enough most dealers were willing to remove them. Only port option on mine was Toyoguard (snake oil, supposed sealant and fabric guard, lol) and touch keypad thing which I yanked out.

Yeah, the dealer I am working with told me, on a truck allocated but not built, they would decontent any SET options except Toyoguard. I had another try with another dealer on an allocation on an unbuilt truck that did NOT have Toyoguard on the allocation and they too offered to decontent all the other SET packages but then they tried to sneak in a $700 dealer prep, nitrogen, locking hub fee and I passed. The first thing I asked them about was their addendum fees and they did not disclose it and snuck it onto the invoice instead. I ended up paying the same price for a truck where I had to take the Toyoguard but I won't work with a dealer I don't trust. Plus, as sus as Toyoguard is it is still better than nitrogen, dealer prep and locking lug nuts.

I bought my truck from Olathe Toyota in Olathe, Kansas, in March 2021 for $3,179 below MSRP. MSRP was $43,903 and my quoted internet price was $40,724. That was their initial offer and I didn't even try to negotiate further I took it and mailed them a check immediately. My Tacoma was delivered a few days later.

Edit #1: It's a 2021 Trd Sport 4x4 with Premium & Tech packages. It showed up at my door with I think 7 miles on the odometer. I hired a 3rd party shipping company as Olathe would not ship it for me.

New to the site by way of a new TRD sport picked up over the holiday (Monday actually ).

With that add Carlsbad Toyota to the Southern California dealers *not* charging over msrp. Worth noting, Monday it was blazin insanely hot for 4 straight days prior (limited foot traffic for most of weekend, and they’d just recvd a shipment.)

Not sure how much of an impact this had but…. Just a thought

About 2 1/2 weeks ago, got my Tacoma SR5 for $1 below MSRP from Walnut Creek Toyota (California). Gave me a good trade in value, too.

I just bought my wife a new Prius from them yesterday, it was literally the only new car on their lot! Car had been there one day and had a whopping 6 miles on the clock when I bought it at MSRP. All other dealerships in the area are putting 3-5K markups on new cars. I would definitely recommend this dealership for someone looking to buy a Toyota in the portland area.

I got my current truck back in December from Longo and no additional dealer add ons.
Reserved it in July and was finally available in Dec with my name on the windshield.
Easy transaction but a bit of a wait.
