This. A great salesman should be able to close that deal overnight. It’s really an investment. I’m buying it used because it’s already lost value and can only go up. Step up noob

I can honestly say that in the 13 years I’ve been married I’ve never given the illusion of what she thinks I should buy matters to me. I work my ass off, sometimes. I pay bills and if I want to buy shit I do.

Damn! Great choices on the sports car and bike.
How has that Cayman been in regard to reliability? I've been thinking about getting one.

Been awesome so far. I’ve had to change an upper coolant seal but I think it was a fluke. If I would have brought it to a shop it would have cost over $1k but a $25 part and a bit of determination I got it done in a day. If I had to do it again I could probably tackle it in about an hour, just a bit of learning.

Have you ever thought of getting into Miata racing? To some it might sound ridiculous but honestly it’s pretty bad ass. It’s fairly inexpensive to get into, the cars handle decent for how fast they go. It’s basically like a grown up go cart race and there are a lot of people who do it.

I had a buddy years ago that was into karting. Once my boy is old enough (and if he's interested) I'd love to get into something like that!

I've had a few foreign rides, mostly Land Rover's (absolute garbage IMHO)
A money pit regardless of the ability to pay in this instance would be a real pain...not only to shell out the cash but to have to hear about it from the wife while I write the check. Of course, I have some of the same issues with the Taco, but I can do most of that work on my own. If I decide to go with an Audi it would be a lower mile one that I could purchase a premium warranty. Lots of gadgetry on those vehicles, no warranty, no deal in my book.

You'd like it even more with a well sorted v8 Miata from Flyin Miata that is insured by it's 4 cyl vin.

Other than the back seats you'd forget that Audi nonsense.

Easy answer. Buy the Audi, promising that you will sell the Taco. Maybe even place a CL ad for proof. It turns out there just isn't enough interest in the Taco, you're doing your best. During this time, the household is getting used to the new 3-car format. Create some situations where the truck comes in extremely handy, maybe empty out your attic/basement (bonus points here) and illustrate just how useful this truck still is. Then maybe create a situation where the Audi fits in, maybe a romantic weekend getaway within driving distance. Eventually everyone gets used to 3 cars, because each one is essential.
