Does she play ball or have a favorite toy? If so, play for a bit and put her and the toy in the car. Don't go anywhere until you've done this a few times. Then, just go around the block real quick. Be sure she hasn't eaten or had much water before hand :) Make trips longer. And hopefully, no more puke.

Dunno if the shut down is bringing out all the assholes and fucking idiots, but I saw a photo of some asshat bringing their dog on a walk in Arches National Park to Delicate Arch (for those that don't frequent national parks dogs aren't allowed on trails in 95% of the parks I've visited, those that do allow it have strict rules about what trails they can go on). Shit like that boils the blood:frusty:.

Regarding staying warm, Little Buddy and or Big Buddy propane heaters. Down comforter and or Down dual sleeping bag. If I am just solo, I typically just use one or two high quality Mexican blankets. On real cold nights with the comforter, the wool blanket goes over my head too! Been on high teens, low 20s and comfortable.

Wait a minute...he was banned for 30 days for posting the pic? He actually pm'd me telling me he took down the pic before he got banned. I'd suggest reassessing the ban. Seems people are getting banned too easily on TW. I think he was sincere about understanding his mistake. Sometimes it is simply because of a minor disagreement with a mod. Pretty sad no discourse is allowed. Reminds me of polarized political views. You know the saying about absolute power and corruption.

If you know me you know how adamant I am about respecting the wild areas we all enjoy. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

The shutdown has not been good for DV. There have been photos of people camped off trail on FB. Toilets and human waste in general have also become problematic.

Sucks that folks cannot step up and take care of themselves.

    ...too much shit to list.
You don’t have the first clue how the staff works so stop playing the holier than thou. There is no disagreement with any one staff member either, especially with situations like this. We have a standing 30 day vacation for these types of things. Deleting the picture doesn’t change the act. Feel free to look through the banned memorial thread.

Nobody is forcing you to stay on the site. Feel free to log off if you don’t agree with how it is run.

Just to add salt to the wound, we’ve had members banned for social media screw ups on other forums for at least 6 months on TW.

If you ask me, @jberry813 is in the holiday spirit.

Remember the guys who carved their names into the rocks in CA? banned. and the guys who intentionally rolled a boulder over a cliff in Moab? banned. were you ehre to defend them?
do stupid shit. get banned. with a large site like this we need to keep in mind the whole audience that we attract. don't need anyone to see that sort of thing getting ignored by the community and staff here.

its awful. i generally spend new years in yellowstone but I'll be staying away this year. i wish they'd close the parks off cmpletely during the shtudowns, no telling what sort of stupid shit people are trying to get away with since there are no rangers to babysit the tourons.

Don't know that they need to help you but people do need them to help cleanup. I find that part hard to comprehend-if you brought it there, you could take it back home or at least to the nearest dumpster.

That he is. Others have been gone for much longer for similar offenses. Others will stick up for the banned until it becomes their trail that becomes closed for these reasons.

I'm sure the rangers would rather be working - every one of them I've talked to loves the parks as much as we do. To somehow fault them for the dysfunction of our over-polarized social/political environment seems like pointing the wrong direction IMO.

I mean rangers who are too few on a regular day in the NPS.
I see people doing stupid shit when the parks are at full staff, can't even imagine all of the dumb shit people are up to now that there is no one around to stop them.

I'm with you - Idiots abound. I just hate the political maneuvers and games. I know ALL participants, including the NPS play it to their advantage- as many would and do.

My perfect world is less NPS area not more just because they attract idiots of all walks and let folks that just want to get away enjoy themselves instead of being penalized for the least common denominator. The issues with idiots will never be cured in away that will allow others enjoyment as we've had in our past.

Give me an open sky and tree to shit behind and I'll make sure and always do, take my used TP with me - and in some areas my poo too.
