Very. The ones I have have O2 sensors and are VERY difficult to start at 10k or so in elevation since the concentration of O2 is low. Don't get me wrong, the first few times I though, this may be an act of suicide but I am glad to report (@ the disappointment of many) I have survived more than 100 nights of using one. :)

The wool blankets are the safest by far. :)

I use mine. But, I never leave it on if I'm sleeping.

Not fun. Stay warm. These heaters have been perfect. We've brought them into cabins too.

Not so much a question of CO but fire. At least with Mr Buddy.

We have used ours in many ways. IMO, now that I have used them for years, they are VERY safe and will even automatically turn off if bumped or knocked over. :)

Not questioning the safety. I just don't want to leave it running "unattended".

I just read an article about the state of the parks during the shutdown. I'm certain we will see more closure as time goes on.

I've debated with myself to address this further and feel it needs to be said regardless of how many mods dislike or jump on this as a platform to attack ones opinion and observations...

That's precisely the attitude that is harming TW. There have been voluntary departures where people have asked all content be removed. That does not benefit TW. I've seen the ban thread and how much pride is shared by certain mods. Get off your high horse and be level headed about your duty as an internet forum moderator. That's just it, you're doing this because you want to. You're not getting the Nobel Prize for your great efforts here. Since it was completely lost on you the quote is "Absolute power corrupts absolutely".

People that share quality information will go elsewhere. Just as you said it's our choice to participate on TW. I've seen the same negative effects on various types of forums where people get carried away with their tiny bit of power. I know personally several members here who have significantly decreased what they share from trips. Step back, take a breath, and relax a little bit. I've taken a look at the rules located here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/help/terms
and all I see is vague directions about what is allowed. If there are other areas where specific rules address what can and cannot be posted please direct me there and please do so without some smart ass commentary or vitriol.

When someone blatantly breaks NPS or wilderness regulations and has no regret or respect then yes I'd agree they get some punishment.

You didn't debate with yourself enough over the past 4 days because you still posted this nonsense.

This situation was handled consistent with how we've addressed similar situations in the past.

    ...too much shit to list.
You linked the site terms. Not rules. Rules are commonly referred to as the Code of Conduct, which is a sticky in the Site News and Announcements sub-forum along with a myriad of other site guidance, in which photos of illegal activity is specifically called out. Ignorance is not an excuse.

But let’s face it, this place although entertaining and sometimes informative, is a genius work where Bob gets others to paint his fence for him. :)

So - not DV specific, but somewhat related to the conversation that's been going on (and frankly, that we have on TW quite a bit!). I totally forgot that I'd seen this on a recent trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, but while there - at a place called Parissawampitts Point - there was a stake in the ground with a message I'd never seen before out in the wild.

I was glad to see it, wished there were more, and wondered to myself: "Does it work? I hope so."

Anyway, thought I'd share since I know we're all on the same side about this one.

To see the gobs of other pics from this day, feel free to check out F.U.Rain Day 5 - Amazing Aspen and Electrical Storms. (part of the ongoing F.U.Rain trip report)

It was as though someone had taken the brightest yellow paint available, mixed it with sunlight, and spread it throughout the landscape.
We were truly lucky to be here - a week before or after and we'd have missed this spectacular display!

The ratio may be off but if you are talking about number of active CORVA members that would be about right. I would personally say that ratio is about 2% bad apple but they more than make up for their small number.

How many days are you going to be there? That's a long route.

Also the red route you have going north from Ubehebe Crater to Eureka Dunes - I've never taken that route, but was under the impression that stuff up north of Ubehebe was closed. I could be totally wrong about that though - but I've always gotten to Saline Valley and Eureka from the south.
