^ wow. That's going to take an extraordinary amount of resources to repair. It's got me somewhat worried. Inyo should just build a bridge there. :D Seriously, I wonder when it will reopen. I hope they don't leave it closed. On the park's backcountry website (FB), they have several pics of other washed out roads..

There's always South Pass, Lippencott, and Steele Pass.
They should just put a huge pipe there and cover it with dirt.

Light bar and bumper guard, 3/16 steel skid plates for engine, tranny and transfer box, OME 881 springs with 5100 shocks at mid clip. AAL in rear. Positraction rear diff.
There are a couple of mines there outside the NP and if they are active then Inyo County will fix the road. If the mines are not active then who knows when the road will open. Like ETAV8R says there are other ways in.

Lippencott had a vehicle stuck on it. Wonder if they got it moved.

There is so much to explore over there. I wish it were a little closer to the Bay Area.
Actually I take that back. I'm glad it's far away and not a lot of people go there.

Aaron, I am sure I will have an itch before then and I'll be sure to make sure you know. Are you 2wd these days? Not that it matters but it may with all these rains.

I have been to DV twice in road cars, and sometime this winter I want to hook up with you, ETA or Crom and really get deep into DV, i could do this solo but i don't really want to.

Solo may be an option in many places but this is not a place I would go solo.

That is the $19.99 question and it depends if you have 4x4 or not.

DV is such a huge place, the valley proper is 110 miles long with a lot of roads that go all over the place.

Right, a fuck up in DV can become serious business, better to have more than one vehicle going out.

IDK guys, maybe a TW roadie in Nov, Dec? It's right in the middle of tourist season, not the most ideal time but I'm sure you local guys know how to get away from it all.

For the latest info on the Saline Valley rd and connections go to this site. They maintain the warm springs too. http://forum.salinepreservation.org/?forum=162656
The DVNP site is OK but often their info lags except for the main touirist areas, besides Inyo County maintains the Saline Valley Rd.

I'd love to pull off a DV trip later this year, but for me it would have to be family trip and I'm going to have to ponder the plan thoroughly. I'd say my changes of going this year are very low. :( The park is huge which means lots of driving, that and having two small children are not the best combo. On a happier note, we do have future winter adventure plans for for Joshua Tree NP and Anza-Borrego Desert SP. :)
