Darn, I didn't know it was happening. I would find this very interesting! Digging up orphanage stuff though... sobering indeed.
Take plenty of water and stay hydrated!

Water condensed from the air is very very clean. Should be no problems with drinking it permanently.

I’d prefer people just trained their dogs and kept an eye on them, like everything else a few ruin it for the rest. My dog is never off leash in the parks, and is with me at all times, is cleaned up after and if I am in the spring is either in the truck or tied of to the truck on a lead. But yes there was lots of nuisance dogs there, I’ll keep my puppers off the trails. I presumed DEath valley was different then most other parks as the rangers were all like nice pup when I was on the trails and ran into them and countless others i know that frequent said it is not an issue there unlike other national parks.

Might just have to start sticking to the national forests and avoiding national parks both US and Can.

It is a shame to have to do so. However, I increasingly find myself on National Forest or B.L.M. lands because the parks have too many rules and too many people.
It sucks for me because I love our parks and they encompass some of the coolest real estate on the planet.

I will post it in a trip report instead. They will be doing another dig in March, to be announced... it was a great learning opportunity and we met a lot of great folks. Hot too, but we kept hydrated for sure!

    Just the basics
That's typically a very busy time in the DV area. You could run it solo and see plenty of people out and about.

Where does it say only 6 oz. of water a day? Everything I read said at least 4 or 5 cups a day.

    From the linked article:

Even on the driest day in the desert, with an extremely low relative humidity of 7% and temperatures over 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the harvester produced six ounces (0.2 liters) of water per kilogram of MOF per day.

Since this is the Death Valley thread it is worth noting that's not an unusually dry day for Death Valley. How productive the system is will be very dependent on just how much water is in the air. Death Valley in the summer has relative humidity below 5% all the time (dewpoint below freezing is typical).

But the above statistic is per kg of media and the systems they are planning on marketing use multiple kg of media so they'll produce more.

If it wasn't mentioned.... The North Rim closes Oct 15th through some time in May or later depending on our seasonal snow. Imo the South rim is the least desirable way to experience the GC.

this 2018 F150 was left in the road, no way around it. the left rear drive wheel appeared to have dug a hole in loose golf ball sized gravel. i backed up then drove thru Ubehebe, up the east side of the Last Chance Range to Crankshaft, and into Eureka Valley.
