LOL In Saline a robe and/or kilt is mandatory. You don't have to go it in the buff if you don't want to. I don't during the day. Only during nighttime soaking. To each their own but Saline is a crappy place, can't understand why anyone would want to go there.

    Yup:

    Day 1:
    - LA to Eureka Dunes at 6:30 AM
    - Eureka Dunes to Saline Hot Springs via Steel Pass

    Day 2:
    - Petroglyphs
    - Lippincott Road
    - Racetrack
    - Ubehebe Crate
    - Bailey's Hot Springs (Beatty, NV)

    Day 3:
    - Rhyolite Ghost Town
    - Titus Canyon
    - Devil's Golf Course
    - Badwater Basin
    - zabriskie point
    - Dante's View
    - Back to LA arriving home at 1AM

Recovered a guy with a dead Montero outside of Saline hot springs and another guy stranded with a flat on the 127 about 30 miles from Baker.

Dude that dead Montero was running when I got back! He had two sets of keys and the second set had the chip which apparently reset whatever code the shorting out wire tripped in the computer. He was leaving as I was getting back!

Man I wish I would've known you guys were out there! I was there for a few days over the weekend too, but mostly for the photo ops. The most "off roading" I did was on the road to the Racetrack, but I was camped up at Homestake dry camp near Lippincott road for a little bit.

I need to start selling the coil bucket reinforcements that I have sitting on my shelf. They would have kept that from happening and no welding required.

Yes its pretty easy to see that with that type of top mount you definitely need something to reinforce it. Like a big ring under the bucket? Seems like a requirement or something is missing. If not that is a poor design (structurally)
Pretty scary driving with it like that. The shock and all could've just broke out! That would've been interesting

I have a couple of designs I've used - originally meant to keep top hats from cracking.

Not that scary. I've wheeled with much worse damage. We did Titus Canyon knowing the carnage and didnt really get concerned

If it breaks on the trail no biggie. I was referring more to traveling on the LA freeways.

I was relieved when we got to the freeways! Within 200 miles for AAA tow! Plus if the shock really punched through the wheel well, the bumpstops were fully charged and ready to pick up the slack lol

I usually go out there once or twice a year with a buddy and other friends. Was out in Johnson Canyon last November and backpacked over to Panamint City. Really diggin' the pictures you posted. What kind of camera do you have?
