Is Saline Valley rd accessable from the Lone Pine side? If not, the folks up in Cerro Gordo are hosed

Well, when much of the place is actually alluvial fans, yes water moving earth is quite common. You could say it made the place. :)

Difficult to tell the location of this photo. The description is also confusing. Road to/from Cerro Gordo to the salt tram isn't the Swansea side.
I'm glad I got to experience this route just before the initial "1000 year storm" running the trail from Cerro Gordo to Swansea. That storm chased me off the mountain.

My main interest is access to the Salt Tram.
The pic with the SXS looks like 2 people with shovels can make it passable in an hour

If that's the Swansea side what you don't see is then entire wash after this section which could have many sections like this that require additional hours.

I read the text as the photo is from between Cerro Gordo and the tram. In addition the Swansea side (not pictured) is rough such that there was someone stuck at the tram who could not get out either direction.

Does anyone know Brent? I ask because after I watched this flood video, I watched a few more. I noticed in his hike up to Panamint City, he was using a drone for a bunch of shots in the park. Not knowing him at all beyond the videos I watched, it seems like he is pretty respectful of the history and probably wants to follow all the rules, etc., so if someone knows him, it might not hurt to let him know about the no drones rule, in case he isn't/wasn't aware.

Anyone know if the back way from Lee Flat is open to Cerro Gordo? I was hoping to try that route on next trip.

Panamint City is just east of the Park boundary … the trailhead at the bottom of Surprise Canyon and a good part of the hike up is BLM land. Though I think it’s Wilderness so not sure drones are allowed there either.
